Gregor said the Oilers have zero cap space ight now
He's a late round pick who is gaining traction with elite size, skating and two way defending game a couple years into pro development. Virtually no prospect defensemen jump directly to NHL. Said already, he's not a prospect I'd throw away for a sub $1 million UFA journeyman to shave $500,000 off.Skate where? Like why are we treating him like a 1st round pick 2 years into his pro career? I'm happy he's developing and it sucks to have to move him, but man, tons of these guys exist on teams all over the league.
Ekholm's wife loving the winter snow and now Bjugstad loves the mall?
Guess Edmonton's a place for players and their families after all![]()

Has there been any update on Yamo?Time to go all in on this cap hit under league minimum thing. Get both Sheary and TVR at 25% with a third team.
Sheary($500k) and TVR($237.5k) now cost less than Shore and you can ice a 23 man roster.
Janmark plays the most TOI/g on the PK of any forward, they're not scratching him.RNH - McDavid - Hyman
Kane - Draisaitl - Sheary
Foegele - McLeod - Kostin
Bjugstad - Yamamoto
Nurse - Ceci
Ekholm - Bouchard
Kulak - TVR
Desharnais
Skinner
Campbell
Extras: Ryan, Janmark
It's really not a lot of worry at all. I like the prospect more and feel his value is higher than a throw in for a UFA journeyman player and saving $500,000. I appreciate your concern for my sense of worry but you're the guy who was doom and gloom on Broberg's selection with such off the wall anxiety of writing off an age 21 high pedigree two-way defensemen. We'll both be fine, honest! It’s putting so much thought and worry into nothing…especially since we brought a prospect back too. Better players than Kesselring have been added into nothing trades. Happens often
Meh, fine with what we already have.. Janmark and Broberg are good enough to play. Yamamoto is fine as well if healthyRNH - McDavid - Hyman

I'll take him becoming even half of what Turris could have been.Hopefully Bjugstad becomes the guy we thought Turris would be for us
Also handedness mattered to Holland/Woddy.I'd definitely prefer Domi over Bjugstad.. but $900,000 vs $3 million is a big difference as well.
Set by Ol' Oil Can Derek back in 1913Now now half the young whippersnappers here have never seen a team that can win it all. Like you said we’ve been so bad for so long we hold on to our prospects like grim death.
Yep one more time and he ties the NHL record

(or something like that. Wasn't fully listening when they talked about it on the broadcast last night)

Make it so Kenny. MAKE IT SO. Willing it into existence
Would only need retention on Sheary. Him at 50% and TVR at full value and the Oilers could make the addition by sending down Shore and Broberg. Broberg and Holloway can come up for the playoffs. For the record, Caps have used 2/3 of the possible retention slots
