I'm going to make a guess that some of those Eastern teams are going to have some chemistry issues here down the stretch as the players get used to their new linemates.

Gelling together and chemistry is a much bigger factor than some realize.

A "good team" is obviously more than just throwing a bunch of good players together.

I could easily see a team like the Leafs for example taking a while to gel and get some chemistry going again.

On the flipside... for a team like the Oilers who lost a really good teammate who they seemed to love... Barrie, that move by Holland may actually bond this team even more because they know this isn't f***ing around anymore... the goal is CUP and the management/players made a big sacrifice of a friend to get closer to the big prize.

I think this may help bond the team towards completely and totally focusing on the SC final... anything short of that is failure... especially after essentially sacrificing a teammate for the ultimate goal of winning it all.

We're loading up for a cup run headlined by the best player on planet earth and half the board is crying that we traded away a poor man's Brad Hunt. This place never changes.

I hope Holland decimates the Condors some more tomorrow.
Right we have away peanuts to add to our team wtf lol

La added Gavrikov which is nothing really and Korpisalo which should be an improvement on Quick but could possibly be worse.

I think we are the only Western team with a substantial improvement.

Yeah LA is in "maybe not, but probably" right now I would say for improvement. Not a lot of other western teams adding at all strangely.

I’m really looking forward to a hopeful LA vs LV matchup in the playoffs. Quicks revenge tour would be one hell of a storyline.

I think it's a bad move depending on Yammer to make it through the playoffs. Unfortunately he is the weak link. Fix that any way you can and we are much more likely to have a good run.

Also add another cheap RD and we'll be cooking with gas!
I think Ceci is the true weak link (oh and Campbell of course).

Time to go all in on this cap hit under league minimum thing. Get both Sheary and TVR at 25% with a third team.

Sheary($500k) and TVR($237.5k) now cost less than Shore and you can ice a 23 man roster.
They really would be perfect fits and come with a boatload of playoff experience

Would be the move.

The only team that gets to exploit a loophole is the first one to discover it.

We have our media still saying we probably pursue EK65 (DNb, Gregor, etc) in the off-season.

I agree I would have liked to see him go in a bigger deal but man he isn’t playing ahead of bouch, Broberg, Ekholm, nurse, Kulak, Ceci, and whoever else we acquire anytime soon. Could he pass desharnais as the 7D maybe but like we want our team to be competitive for the next 4 years this guy is not playing since we need better
That's all fine and well. I hope that does happen. They need to stabilize 1RD imo.

Kesselring at this stage of pro development is not someone I'd sacrifice in a fairly average prospect pipeline to shave $500,000 on a UFA sub $1 million journeyman player. The Oilers were finally building up some legitimate organization depth at defense.

Good thing we brought back an offensive prospect defender with NHL experience.
