I’d like to see a deal for Connor Sheary, then I’d be content. Sheary at 50% makes less than Shore. Pacing for just under 40 points and has 2 cup rings with the Pens. Top 6 insurance should there be an injury or two.
Could even fit Sheary at 50% and TVR if they send down Broberg and Shore (just barely like 13k cap remaining). Would be well worth it imo just to be able to have Broberg playing 20+ mins in the AHL before the playoffs.

Great idea.

Get it done Kenny

My point is, his sudden offensive production means absolutely nothing, ESPECIALLY with his low total points.
Could he be a decent guy in the future? Maybe.
But absolutely nothing about him points to being anything more than an AHL journeyman, or the occasional call up from a bottom team.
Again, my point is not about his production. It is about the raw package of elite length, right-handed shooting and strong skating ability. Good offensive instincts. There's a lot of excellent raw components that are hard to find and worth investing the development time. He's wildly overshot with his goal scoring results but it's moreso about investing the time to nurture the full raw package which are all coveted assets that are hard to find in hoping to grow two way defenders for realistic bottom pair NHL roster. Regarding the production, no way to know at this early stage of development if it is anomaly or development growth of a young, raw player starting to manifest against adult pro competition.

This is not a throw-in prospect for me to shave $500,000 on a sub $1 million UFA journeyman player.

Kesselring's shot rates went from 1.4 per game to 3.2 per game this season.

Obviously there's been some significant development in how he goes about shooting. This isn't just pure luck.
Sure he is scoring on 4x more % of his shots this season and double the rate of two seasons ago. Seems reasonable he would regress slightly shooting percentage wise even holding the increase in shots flat.

To me he is somewhere in the middle and is probably a mid to high single digits goal scorer as a d in the ahl.

I don’t think this is likely a highly impactful player for us in the next 4 years and those are the years that matter

Frustrating if this is Ken’s last move. Multiple teams going all in, and his all-in move was to add Ekholm while subtracting Barrie. I understand we’re a better team because of that trade, but I’m not convinced it’s enough.

La added Gavrikov which is nothing really and Korpisalo which should be an improvement on Quick but could possibly be worse.

I think we are the only Western team with a substantial improvement.
Korpisalo put up bad numbers on Columbus teams that had focused on defence. LA has been hanging their goalies out to dry this year.

This blowhard will find a way to yap again about how better Matthews is compared to McDavid.
I was looking for that video but couldnt find it. DO you have it?

Multiple teams in the east.
What western teams are going all in?

I'm convinced it's damn near enough to get through the West (assume stew and soup hold up enough). How it compares to the East, who knows, but getting through the West is step one

He’s certainly not playing meaningful minutes in the NHL ahead of Nurse, Ekholm, Broberg, or Bouchard anytime soon. Not likely ahead of Kulak or Ceci either

I still sit here dreaming of acquiring Karlsson in the summer. I just don't think it's possible. The assets we'd have to pay to get that 40% rentention while dumping Campbell and Ceci...

We have our media still saying we probably pursue EK65 (DNb, Gregor, etc) in the off-season.

I agree I would have liked to see him go in a bigger deal but man he isn’t playing ahead of bouch, Broberg, Ekholm, nurse, Kulak, Ceci, and whoever else we acquire anytime soon. Could he pass desharnais as the 7D maybe but like we want our team to be competitive for the next 4 years this guy is not playing since we need better

Sure it will be tough, but there's less urgency in the offseason, there's more places to move more pieces and the cost is lower. It could still happen

Evander was his real trade deadline move lol
