The guy had a once in a lifetime run after almost being traded, he won't ever repeat that. Which is cool. But it would be nice if he stepped up to the plate and provide SOMETHING on the ice, you know like Jarret Stoll did. I don't expect him to dangle and score a hattrick, just put your damn stamp on the game. Throw a hit, complete a dump and chase, break up a play. SOMETHING. Too often there is someone else stepping up and trying to change the momentum while Dustin derps around either invisible or making face-palm worthy plays. I'm sure he's a great guy and all, and 2012 was amazing, but let's call a spade a spade here, you're the captain and part of the leadership group.

DL isn't stupid, he's a business man too.he's not some locker room guy who gives you pep talks. He has a job to do too no matter how hard the choices are.

Does anyone have a worse 'hockey IQ' than Dustin Brown. The guy shoots when he should pass. Passes when he should shoot. Shoots when he should hold. Holds when he should shoot. He needs to do everything opposite of what he does. Every single time, maybe the last 500 times his linemates have gotten him the puck entering the offensive zone he does this lame hesitation which gives the defenseman the perfect amount of time to get a stick on his terrible shot that goes deflecting into the other teams possession. The man should not be allowed to touch the puck. Hit people, draw penalties, go to front of net, be the simple man you are. Since he has nothing else to offer, this guy should have at least stepped up and tried to fight someone in one of the earlier blowouts to rally his team. Or do something to send some sort of statement. If he's not going to contribute on the stat sheet and he's not going to rally his team, what good is he. He is not a leader. It's just not in his personality. He doesn't know how to talk. 'Oh but he leads by example.' Really?! I will say his hitting was noticed out there today, which has also been lacking previously. But this guys sucks. Oh yeah... and here's the real kicker... this idiot is going to be making almost 6 million dollars a year until 2022. ****ing sweet!

I don't blindly hate anyone, I love the guy. I don't love 6 million for fourth line expectations. If he was being paid 1 million I'd be cool with his non-offense. But this isn't the 2012 Kings anymore. Richards isn't that player. It isn't the 06-07 Kings where I'd be cool with having a second line center who can't score, either. Those days are over, we're not the Flyers clutching onto our past because we have no present. We have a future with some great players, Richards won't be part of it. End of story really. I'd post his numbers of late but to be honest I'm tired of looking at them, they're that bad.

No scapegoating, but having no second line center is hurting the team badly. We can't keep up.

The only real improvement that might come to our defense will come from the kings giving some kids a shot and praying they turn out to studs.because right now no one is appealing .

I would let both Greene and Mitchell walk at this point trade Regehr for whatever you can, sign Niskanen and put Campbell/McNabb/Forbort in the lineup IF THEY ARE READY if management thinks they need another year in Manchester then hang onto Regehr and sign someone like Orpik as a stop gap

Disagree that we weren't competitive tonight. Agree that he was way too stubborn in games 1 and 2. The team obviously looked mostly fine tonight.

Why do you keep saying this? You know the Hawks had two first-round exits after the cup run, right? Technically, as of right now, we are the more successful post-cup team.

Nah, I think we can retool this offseason. Cut ties with Mitchell and Greene, bring up McNabb, and go all-in for Ehrhoff. That would certainly go a LONG way.

Alright by me. But Ehrhoff is going to cost a lot, probably see Pearson and another high pick end up in Buffalo.

The problem with the Kings is, there championship window should be open now but it's not because so many players have completely fallen off.

I mean, how many teams that are considered contenders would still be contenders if their 1st line left wing and second line center both turned into essentially fourth line players almost overnight.

Dean has some serious contract poo poo to clean up this summer. And if he makes the wrong moves the Kings are in some trouble, this is the biggest offseason for the Kings in a long time, maybe since Dean took over in 06.

You're right, DL isn't stupid. So he's not gonna buyout our POTENTIAL #2C (he was until this down season) and leave a huge hole and overpay in the trade market to bring another one in. If Richards proves that this really is going to be him from now on this next season, then Lombardi will move him. Not gonna act like Lombardi is pep talking Richie in the room, but he's gonna tell him he expects to bust his ass in the off-season, come out flying next training camp, or he'll be hitting the bricks.

True but if you don't got it, you don't got it.

The Sharks are the better team, it shows, and this roster is done.

No amount of coaching is changing that.

Babcock could be the coach, and this roster is still down 3-0 if you ask me.

Hell I think the Redwings are more skilled than the Kings,
and Babcock's team just got manhandled.

Wings are down 2-1 looking lifeless. That's the best coach in the NHL coaching that team too.
