Ahh Slava :(

Voynov was distraught in the locker room. Wouldn't / couldn't even talk.

@mayorNHL 6m
Voynov did tell me the GWG went off his stick.

I STILL say that this team has heart. I don't give a **** if some people say they don't show it. It's a down year. It was bound to happen. I love all these guys and it sucks seeing them not succeed, but it will make them stronger in the long run.

People still can't grasp the fact that this is Voynov's FIRST full season in the NHL.

Regardless of what happens Thursday, I'm watching the game for closure's sake.

Also, Dean's made a few changes here and there, but the 2012 team is essentially still here. The team had a shelf life and now it seems it's gone past that. It sucks, but that's what the off-season is for. Shed some dead weight and start again.

I just wasn't expecting it to get this bad though.

The big shake up off season should take place regarding coaching. It is simply unforgivable to have such a talented team, that most predicted to be at least Cup finalists, go down in the first round and probably in 4 games. OK the Sharks are looking good, but this team is very very badly coached this year. Sutter brought the team at the highest level 2 years ago but is incapable of doing it again. A new Head Coach with a new team of coaches has to come in.

Paging the Chicago Blackhawks between their two cups.

How badly have Dustin Brown and Mike Richards regressed? Jesus. This team is a mess, I'm on board with the whole "let's get swept and hope for change". Miss Scuderi badly. Been saying it all year.

The Richards hate tonight is comical, and please go ask Pittsburgh fans how much we should miss Scuderi.

What did this have to do with Richards? The guy actually had a decent game tonight and still it's his fault. Why? What did he do tonight that was so horrible? God, I know I'm fighting a losing battle here but he didn't even do anything worth the venom tonight.

With you on this one. Richards was not just present, he was actively creating, hitting, and doing mostly positive things, definitely enough to at least not be the scapegoat tonight. Take off the hateblinders.

Ahh Slava :(

Poor guy, honestly :(

Like i said before, love the heart, hate the result almost more than the last two. I'm sure we'll see some changes this offseason, and I know many posters here want/need a scapegoat, in my humble opinion, tonight was a team loss and it's silly to single anyone out.

I knew bad things were gonna happen when Gabby hit the post. I knew worse things were gonna happen when that breakout pass hit the spirit-stick of Ryane Clowe in our d-zone.

Also, it's not over till it's over. Just no margin for error or luck now.

Edit: also, it's not like we are just beating ourselves--give the opponent credit. The Sharks obviously have a monster ****ing team this year and they're gonna be a hard out for anyone. Sometimes you just run into the hotter, luckier, and ultimately better team, and that doesn't mean there's something fundamentally wrong with your team--they're just destined.

Ahh Slava. You live and you learn. **** season for him and a couple of others. :(

Voynov did tell me the GWG went off his stick.

All set up by his bad clearing pass, followed by his turnover. He should feel shame.

Regardless if they won tonight., this team just could not do it... No life in them from game one.. Disinterested.. Oh well

If the Sharks don't win the Cup after dismantling us in 4-5 games, I'll be very disappointed. They look like us in 2012, whereas we look like the Canucks in 2012.

Okay so Richards had the game I'd expect Clifford to have at 6 times the cap hit. Hooray for the moral victory...but his time has come. Looking at his contract and what he brings to the team is shocking. We need a producer in his spot.

I love that Martinez gets given PK time over Muzzin because Sutter knows he is the better defensively of the 2, yet Muzzin has to play on the top line against the tough competition.

DARYLL SUTTER

It's going to be painful on the Back-end till, Forbort/McNabb/Gravel are ready.

We have a better chance rushing defenseman in a little soon before they're ready rather than after.

We don't have the assets to get any quality defenseman. Hopefully they will get a chance and progress.

We don't miss Scuderi. We miss the lack of finding the next Scuderi, the next Willie, next Greene. That is what DL needs to do. It's that simple. You go nowhere looking to the past. You must go forward.

Exactly.

And a lot of it has to do with terrible defense drafting late in the last decade.

Hickey (07), Teubert (08) and Forbort (10) all drafted with Top 15 picks. Hickey and Teubert busted and never played a game for the Kings and Forbort's development has been disappointing.

The trade for McNabb was a direct result of those disaster draft picks by Dean, they needed to pick up a defenseman in his early 20's that could step in because none of those guys did.

The defense of this team is in bad bad shape.

I'd honestly be cool with that and it may be necessary. But I'd be really surprised if DL let Sutter go.

Mike Richards talking turnovers, turnovers, and misses chances.

Was he talking about himself? Oh man, dissapointing season for the top guys. :shakehead

Not signing Gravel at this point would be disastrous, I would want Lombardi fired if that happens.

Agreed, on all points. Anyone expecting to go Cup > WCF > Cup doesn't understand how the league is now, especially in the Western Conference which is STACKED. Even the Bruins got knocked out in the 1st round following their cup win, so did Chicago after their 2010 win, and they might again. Teams need these wakeup calls, hopefully we make adjustments and come out strong next season.

Who were these people? We had an outside shot but pretty sure odds makers favored the Blues, Sharks, Ducks and Hawks out of the west.

Team underachieved this season and it has continued into the play offs but it has way more to do with on ice execution than anything the coach deals with. Sharks were hungrier and just wanted it more. They're fourth line fed us our lunch and we never truly answered the bell. I'm ready for some changes in the off season.

hey man no hateblinders on richie but lets not forget he is supposed to be our number 2 center, not 4. Sure he tried tonight but he is just to slow to be center even with his hockey i.q. Lots of philly fans in my area cant believe how quickly he has regressed. Really too bad.

Honestly, the guy that I'm tired above all is Dustin Brown. I even think he's going to return to his 20 goal 50pts form, but boy he's just not a very smart hockey player. He's got the C and supposed to be the emotional leader of this team. Zilch. Nada.

Don't know why signing Gravel would matter. We have all seen how good Sutter is as getting rookies into the line up.

Edit: Held them Sharkies to only 4GAA!!!!! Moral Victory!!!! On a more serious note don't think a Sharkies fishbowl to the head would make me feel better right now. lol
