It's always hilarious how quickly Caser always shows up at the slightest bit of Russia shade.

Perhaps because, more often than not, 'Russia shade' is BS sensationalism because it sells and gets clicks.

Most recent talk of player restriction is in regards to youth players, not young players per se.
It's U18, U20 age players.

To be honest I wasn't too quick this time, but when you're resting on the Holidays and start to get messages with questions at 6AM due to some guy throwing this fake s*** on the fan, you can tell my mood was not too peaceful towards everyone who is spreading that.

The way the article read, Michov has already signed his extended contract which is due to run out 2 years after this one, which is basically the same as the day he was drafted...

Can you please point where you are reading that? I mean, the initial article isn't about Michkov at all, it was about Nikita Yevseyev and Damir Zhafyarov.

It was one of the articles that comes up with Edge. And it did not specifically mention Michov but implied his name (clickbait). My point was that this is a moot point for Michov because he already signed a 5 year contract (and in the third year).

What a great country...

The issue here is that the only restrictions that so far were in the plans was that U23 players would have to pay some amount of money to leave. However it got stuck in the cabinets of Russian bureaucracy, particularly due to the war, not to mention that it is unclear what should be that amount of money and what would be if someone doesn't pay it.

So pretty much there isn't even a proper subject itself to discuss at this point and even less possible to guess if/how/when it will affect Michkov in some way.

You’re 100% right here. Some idiot translated an agent’s interview and took it totally out of context.

The irony of it is that the agent is actually openly talking about the players potentially being forced to leave Russia / the KHL because they aren’t being treated fairly by the coach. He’s essentially saying “hey, you say you want to keep young players at home playing in the KHL, and here’s 2 talented players who aren’t being given an opportunity to play, do something KHL.”

I don’t speak Russian, so perhaps you can tell me if I’m correct or not, but from my read, it would seem “the president” that is being referred to is actually Tretiak, the President of the RHF, not Putin. Tretiak has given a few interviews about wanting to keep/nurture young Russian talent in Russia and duh… that would be the goal of pretty much any national hockey federation president.

No, it is about Putin, as back in October he stated that the Ministry of Sports needs to be more strict with agents, who are trying to lure hockey players to NA even from the school age. How does it relates to that interview? I don't know, but Babayev is an agent and they are about profit, not about logic. :)

It’s a shame Michkov is surrounded by such a lack of talent. Could’ve had 2+ assists today if any of his linemates could finish.

On the other hand, this could be a blessing in disguise cause he’ll be used to this already when Torts puts him on a line with Laughton and Cates.
I can imagine him thinking something like "Not again! Sochi at least has a pleasant climate" :sarcasm:
