Once/if Quinn cools down, I'd like to see Mitts with Tage and Skinner. But right now let's ride out Quinn's hot streak for all its worth
The only reason Mitts is seeing second line time right now........is because we don't have any second line guys!. We have a couple prospects that could get there someday, but otherwise we are filling our 2nd line wings with 3rd and 4th line players because thats what we have, not because they are 2nd line good.

Cozens isn't a 2nd line guy?

Definition of insanity here. Lets give Olofsson, Bryson, Hino, Clague, Aspland all extensions too. Just keep'em cooking in the "Cauldron of Hope and Wishes."
No. Absolutely do your best to replace those guys, don't want to see any of them back except Hino as 13/14. Girgensons spot too needs to be upgraded with someone actually willing to play the physical game. It would be the definition of foolish to bail on Mitts when he's finally become a useful NHL player.

I have made 30 posts over the last few weeks detailing trades I would make and why. I am not going to go rehashing them for you just so you. Mitts is very replaceable. Hes not on top of the list, but he is ON the list to be replaced.

I'm actually one who would extend Hino for like 3 yrs @ $1.3-1.5m.......cheap NHL'r to fill in as needed as other roles are addressed (at a likely higher cost than currently paid).

The others, ......... nah.

I didn't say bail on Mitts. I said trade him for pieces to use to get someone better. There are many parts to replace first, but Mitts is not part of the future, so stop being afraid to use him as a piece of what it takes to get someone better.

You said "2nd line guys" not "2nd line wingers"
It was implied by the statement "but otherwise we are filling our 2nd line wings with 3rd and 4th line wingers."

Your working really hard to split those troll hairs.

Fair enough. I just think his value internally and in reality is far greater than his value around the league. He's perceived as a semi-bust from his lofty projection and that's far from true. Plus he's Dahlin's best bud on the team.

Dude, I don't hate Hino, but this board needs to raise the bar.......ALOT! Dream bigger man! There are much better players out there. Give em a try.

Also, can we ban the Sabres from drafting or signing anymore "smallish skilled" forwards? Especially in the bottom six?

I think guys like Mitts and Olofsson on your 3rd line is a big part of why we're close to the top of the league in scoring. Secondary scoring is a good thing.

Ideally, you'd just want to support them with players who bring other things like being good defensively, PK, physicality, etc. And ideally, you'd find guys who can give you both, or develop them.

For now, I am happy to have both.

listening to chychyrun..an unredeemable tool . he'd be great at 31 after his divorce and he finds himself by playing I i me ME MINE.. over and over.
Y'know, everyone says "Oh he went to HS with Pegula's kid. Terry wants him here. It would be like a family reunion!"

Looking back on the kids my daughter went to school with, I don't know. I wanted to chase most of those insufferable little twats out of my yard with a baseball bat. I wouldn't pay em twenty bucks to work for me.

Trade....Mitts to VAN plus PHL 2nd for Garland

While you are at it, Get Crouse from AZ for VO and the other 2 '23 2nds. (or Top 10 Protected 23 1st and 24 2nd)

Then go sign Domi in off season for $3.5m

Garland - Domi - Crouse 3rd line.

Garland has had rumored dressing room issues at most of the places he has played.

Love his game on the ice, but probably not interested in throwing a potential headache into this this teams chemistry.

mitts needs to be physically unable to be moved off the puck.. he's targeted. he has great hands and vision but he loses his spot to a kulich , Rosen, Savoie etc if HE DOESN'T friggin LEARN TO IMPOSE HIS WILL on the game..

i think being around tage will help this while tuch is out.. or 8f he doesn't a move like that sinks the teams playoff chances .

Hear me out. Kevin Lankinen is the guy that we wanted Eric Comrie to be. Eric Comrie was the test run, but really its Lankinen that we want, he is going to be the guy, we will have adequate goaltending next season, I just know it.

Lankinen, two years, 2.7 per. A Finn in every net, every night.

Secondary scoring IS a good thing, except when those same players give up more goals than they are scoring. Once again, its not the number of goals scored that determines the winner. Its goal differential. Score 6 but let in 7, and you still lose.

Are we still thinking Mitts is the problem? Still? C'mon man. He has his blunders but that's a guy you have on a championship team. That's a guy you want in your bottom 6
You just watched a team like that in the Bruins, and Mitts would not be in their bottom six.

Clifton as Power partner, Soucy on the 3rd pair

Sammy - Dahlin
Power - Clifton
Soucy - Joker
Bush

Joker at 16 minutes a game should be alright.

We may be in Reinbacher territory at the draft, hopefully our last top-15 pick for a while.

So you're saying we need more players who are good defensively? That kind of sounds like the part of my quote that you left out.
