I don't remember seeing Peterka giving the puck away every chance he could get. Messages need to be sent. Quinn was so terribly awful he should be in the press box for a week.
That's not what Granato has shown hiw he likes to develop young players.

I'll take his approach over yours.

Also, Marek bringing up this guy as someone, first UDFA out of Europe I've heard with some connection to the NHL so far this spring:

Buffalo was not one of the teams mentioned being involved but that the kid has garnered interest from any number of teams, some serious, some curious.

Given the experience of European UDFA's here recently, (Pilut, Antipin) I'd be surprised if we are considered a top target for them anytime soon.

His approach isn't working because Quinn has been awful since December. If they want to win players need to be held accountable. At some point you have to take off the nice guy 'let them make mistakes and develop' before you reinforce mistakes are ok.

I would love for you to justify the decisions made for allowing Quinn to continue seeing as you and Donny are on the same page.

Players want NHL contracts and Buffalo is short on defensemen. The variance in the Sabres results is perhaps more indicative of what happens league wide. They got depth minutes out of a couple of guys, including two years of Ruotsalainen.

If you want to look at import fails, the Flyers have had three mutual contract terminations THIS YEAR as have such "destinations" as Florida, Toronto, and Chicago. Or, you know, just keep on with the schtick about the Sabres.

Not even sure why you would care since you don't watch the product.

I'm curious what everyone wants to do with the bottom 6 F this summer.

I've ran through an initial post season plan:

Greenway-Krebs-Fast
Girgensons-Sturm-Okposo or a similar UFA vet.

Fast is a UFA signing, Greenway (for Mittelstadt), Sturm is a part of a bigger trade in my plan.

You keep repeating this dig.

Sorry for being a parent I guess? I watch the games when I can.

I don't think they can run back what they have in the bottom 6, particularly what they have cobbled together with Mittelstadt-Jost-Olofsson and have it work, but in the last 6 weeks, that trio gave them some surprising depth scoring. I'm not advocating junking all of them, but there seems to be at least a spot to try to get more consistency. It will be interesting if they can finish out the season on the run they were on prior. If they do, that may make it easier to bring them all back.

Girgensons-Krebs-Okposo has worked as a possession flipping cycle line that most nights wins their possession measures and frequently allows them to roll line changes from them into another line, which has certain advantages. Okposo may be long in the tooth but getting him less PK time seems to have him fresher in ES situations. Gus is Gus, Krebs has been bringing energy and smarter play now for a couple of months. It probably is more what does Okposo want to do.

You keep repeating this dig.

You fight so vehemently for things that are Eichel era issues that aren't things that are plaguing the current team.

The other UDFA guy who may be looking for an NHL shot is this guy -

He was at Arizona's dev camp and then this fall supposedly signed with Carolina but had an out so he returned to the KHL. He's not under contract to anyone as of this summer, some left-shot Zub chatter but he's probably looking for a clearer path to the NHL.

He hasn't been awful since December. He is a damn rookie who is going to be inconsistent.

As far as justifying the decision.. Quinn is the best we got to put in the line up.. on the roster and in Rochester.
Blame the GM

Sometimes I wake up at night afraid of them using their first round pick on a defenseman. Knowing that waiting three or four years for them to make the league will be the new position we can’t upgrade so as to not block them. The drought now old enough to drive.

Were these night sweats before or after they went apocalyptic about them using a 1st on Johnson?

Here's a defense I'd be happy with next year
Sammy Dahlin
Power Savard
Clifton Schenn
Lyubushkin

Clifton and Schenn are both UFA.
Sign Hathaway and Varly also.

Trade Bryson and Comrie for whatevs

Joker&Olofsson&VGK#2&BUF#2 for Savard and Dvorak

Mitts TT Tuch
Skinner Cozens Quinn
Peterka Krebs Okposo
Girgensons Dvorak Hathaway
Asplund

KA will stick with Quinn/Peterka like he stuck with Krebs this season. Lets hope those two figure it out by mid-season next year, or it might be another long year

Mitts and VO have that annoying habit of being invisible for a stretch and when you think that they might finally move on from them, they a hot streak and you realize that those hot streaks will keep them around.

It's kind of like how one good frame gets you to go bowling again or that one nice shot gets you to go golfing again. Those small moments of bliss wash out the longer stretches of pain.

I highly doubt that Adams is adding 3 new D into the top 7 for next season.
