I joker as a top 4 d-man but I would like him better on the bottom pair with a defensively responsible physical lhd and be able to roll 3 pairs to offset burn out
Dont know if this is english but im down with it!I joker as a top 4 d-man but I would like him better on the bottom pair with a defensively responsible physical lhd and be able to roll 3 pairs to offset burn out
The thing they need most this year is the same thing they need next year and beyond. A top 4 D. It’s why talk of not rushing a rebuild infuriates me. People are shellshocked by Murray trading futures when they didn’t have anything set. This team has so much set long term that it’s not in a rebuild anymore. It’s time to finish the actual build.Kev really ought to take the chance to strengthen the team for a playoff push

You let this go to waste…you don’t get it back. This year they had all the money and all the assets. They misjudged. They wasted opportunity. And they’ll be staring at the same holes this off-season anyway. Just do it already. They aren’t going to be early on a move. They’re already late.
Having faith is great, but blind faith isn't.I'd like to see an addition also and it might be coming. Florida peaked last year. They made a big trade, had to cap/roster moves and are trending down. The Sabres don't feel like they are peaking. In fact they seem to be on an upward trajectory which is why I think it's important to make a smart move.
It's expensive but easy to just go and get a guy. It's difficult to get the right guy, maybe a long term solution, that fits the culture and team needs. Perhaps even being frugal considering teams peak and fall because of cap issues. I have faith that KA is being wise in his roster construction.
Stabilize the D, ride the UPL/3G train, "maybe" a F upgrade/sidegrade fit (grit, toughness, pk)Krebs is starting to get more trust and more ice time.
If we don't go out and get a RHD. We absolutely need to upgrade that third pair, specifically Bryson. Clague has been significantly better and has way better possession numbers too.Jokiharju is good for the second pair. Sure if u would have really the best D you could upgrade But give him a chance. We are winning and when he is back we are better then now .
Samuelsson Dahlin
Power Jokiharju
Thats great . Lyubuskhin bryson good enough for third pair
JJP has looked good. Quinn has been worse but that's part of the learning curve I suppose.Stabilize the D, ride the UPL/3G train, "maybe" a F upgrade/sidegrade fit (grit, toughness, pk)
L2 kid wingers worry a little now, hope they can get going again
Those couple nights off helped get his stamina back. National media might give it to the old man even with SJ not in playoffs, who is still 10 pts up on Dahlin. But Sabres in playoff hunt will help. Hennesey also playing out of his mind now, Fox is there, and Makar coming on.Dahlin for norris ? Should winn it if he continues. So good

Bryson and Lyubushkin just aren't good enough to make the playoffs. Clague and Lyubushkin might be, but like SabresFan26 posted, Lyubushkin takes way too many penalties. Combine that with the Sabres having a pretty bad PK and you lose because of his lack of discipline. Bryson is just not strong enough in his own zone, and doesn't do anything offensively. If we don't go out and get a RHD. We absolutely need to upgrade that third pair, specifically Bryson. Clague has been significantly better and has way better possession numbers too.
Lyu has been bad and takes horrible undisciplined penalties. Bryson is a fringe guy, good number 7 but to small and not good enough at handling contact, winning board battles.
Dumba intrigues me for Olofsson. He's a guy that could play a bunch for us on that right side.
Dahlin is essentially a RHD as he prefers that side and him and Sammy are going to be together.
So if they do get a LHD, maybe McCabe from Chicago for Bryson and 2nd (we have 3 of them).
Roll with
Sammy-Dahlin
Power-Jokiharju
McCabe-Lyubushkin
Clague
McCabe is a good 2-way guy who will be asked to do way less this time around. Was a good locker room. Would throw the mitts if necessary and hit. Can kill penalties. Free Agent.

Didn't seen you for a while here. This offense is so good that it is such a waste to give up being competitive by:
1. Waiving UPL when he is hot. You keep him and ride the wave as long as it continues. Anything else is beyond dumb,
2. Keeping non-playoff team level defenders like Lybushkin, Fitzgerald and Bryson playing meaningful minutes. 'Bush has been horrible, if we waive him no one will claim him and even if they do, that's still addition by subtraction for us.
Keep the 3 goalies in Buffalo - Give UPL most starts as long as he remains good, give Comrie 1 in 3 starts, let Anderson train with the other 2 and teach them stuff in training basically along with the odd conditioning game (like 1 in 6). We have such a busy schedule that having these 3 share starts is not a terrible idea. Trade for a couple of good 2/3 pair defenders so that they play along the core 4 of Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson and Joker. We don't need much to reach and actually be competitive in the playoffs. Losing two or three 2nd/3rd/4th round picks won't hurt us big time down the line. We shouldn't be trading away our 1sts though, which means no big acquisitions, especially not at Forward where it is absolutely unnecessary. Teams that actually want to be competitive in the playoffs shouldn't be afraid to waive players of the quality of Lybushkin, Hino, Fitzgerald, etc. These are spare parts - there are tons of spare parts across the league for little or even nothing.
Doesn't mean I didn't read what is being saidDidn't seen you for a while here.
Most of us like Clague lately. I've started to think we wouldn't like him at all if he is paired with Lyubushkin.Bryson and Lyubushkin just aren't good enough to make the playoffs. Clague and Lyubushkin might be
But Karlsson is -4 or something Dahlin +16 plays almost 30 min; 1 goal less then karlsson. Havent seen Karlsson this season But hard not seeing Dahlin to winn this if he continues. Those couple nights off helped get his stamina back. National media might give it to the old man even with SJ not in playoffs, who is still 10 pts up on Dahlin. But Sabres in playoff hunt will help. Going that route might just be spreading poo around and making a bigger mess. Only good answer is to trade for a better D-man that fits long-term. Graves, Chychrun, Roy, Peeke...Most of us like Clague lately. I've started to think we wouldn't like him at all if he is paired with Lyubushkin.
I say go with:
Power - Lyubushkin
Bryson/Clague - Jokiharju
Lyubushkin will make any lesser defensemen suck. Power can carry him around. I'm thinking Joker will be good for Bryson and can take some of Lyubushkin's ice time when need be.
This all said, I'm not a big fan of Lyubushkin. Hopefully, we add some depth.
