thry can sign him before the QO for less and theycan sign him after no QO is given

Kulich and Rosen are call ups in 23/24. Full time in 24/25
Ostlund likely pushed a year later with him in Europe where he diesnt come here till 24/25

Savoie gets complicated because next tears appears to be CHL or NHL. No AHL. It’s possible he plays 4C role on Sabres next year
0 chance unless he destroys camp (which I highly doubt) and Adams' interview with The Athletic hockey podcast proves that. Was already talking about how Savoie will manage in the WHL next year.

That's another luxury with having so many good prospects. We don't have to rush any of them. The hope is that they push themselves onto the Sabres roster by being too good to keep them off of it but we don't have to rush anyone. It's a nice change from past seasons and a much better situation than on a lot of other teams.

The ONLY drawback I can see in not developing someone on the Sabres roster is that they lose that sweet sweet Donnie G development magic.

Some day opposing teams will play their number 1 goalie against us.

I can feel it coming

No clue where this is coming from.

Since the break we've faced a Detroit team without a true starter, an Ottawa team with an injured starter, a Boston team that's been diligently rotating goalies game-by-game for 3 weeks and then a true starter in Washington.

Teams are playing their starters against us....if they have one and he's healthy.

One hundred and forty two goals for. I wouldn't play my backup against that.

Not sure why. We've got plenty of offense. Vrana isn't really what we need, and it's not like we'd be re-signing him if he does his usual thing.

Plus, it'd be a MAJOR upheaval to establishing whatever his new personal normal is.....and I can't imagine it'd be a positive thing
an upgrade to the Mitts line would do wonders;
that and an affordable defensive D who can play in the top 4 if needed

most goalies just aren't putting up starter numbers and a lot of teams are back to platooning goaltenders, another wave where the phrase 'starter' doesnt hold the same meaning as it did in the 2000s because I'd argue that they were playing against a lot of backups and in almost all those matchups the backup is on par with the starter, detroits backup might be better

I really don’t care what they do, as long as they’re developing and getting better. Granato generally hasn’t used line combination switches to get guys going - he does it very rarely, and does it less as the season goes on. He’s said as much more than once.

If a guy needs to get going, they address that through practice, not swapping line mates. Especially when 3 forwards are all struggling at the same time.
Dang, looking at Quinn's game log, he is ice-cold right now. He looked better against Washington at times, so hopefully, they're figuring it out. It seems there's some struggle in all of their games right now, but especially with Quinn. Cozens hasn't been as great lately either, as he's finding his way into stupid turnovers which have plagued him at times. Peterka is the most consistent from that group (IMO), but still isn't on his A-game.

I wonder if it's the amount of larger, veteran-laden teams, plus being on the road a lot. Seems like this will be good for development, as they need to learn to deal with being keyed on/matched up against more. As of right now, I wouldn't change this line or the top line. I'm more inclined to swap centers on the bottom two lines to see if the results improve there.

Look at Skinner/Campbell in Edmonton

I think the book is out on Quinn and Peterka, and it reads, "punish them physically into the ground or they will hurt you".

They are young and under-developed physically, and they both have giant bullseyes on their backs to be roughed up at every chance opposing teams get.

I think Cassidy actually created the Kolesar/Carrier/Cotter line in that vegas game with the single intent to physically abuse the kid line. The blatant runs those guys were taking was so bad that Granato actually sat Quinn and Peterka for most of the last two periods.

I don't think seperating them right now would be the end of the world, and it could make match-ups for opposing coaches a lot tougher. I think they will be very dynamic for years to come skating with Cozens, but giving them some protection so they can play and not have to worry about losing their heads every shift is more important for the development currently than keeping them together, imo.

No cursing!
I gotcha

This is the ganging up part. Don't really care. I can criticize and still be a fan. At least you haven't lost me yet. Watched as much as I can my entire life. Love the game

Not blind faith though. We don't live forever.

Do you know what I meant by that?

No one is ganging up on you. You can absolutely criticize all you want. This is what these boards are for! Complain! Be criticial!

BUT -- in a community this large, you're going to get responses that disagree with or criticize your criticisms. This isn't an echo-chamber; no one is going to blindly agree with everything you (or anyone) says.

In this community, you're going to get well-thought out and even well-researched opinions.
