i'm telling you that Arizona fans are expecting less than that.
Krebs a 1st I would do for Chuchryn, I think getting one more top defender here would solidify the defense. I would settle for Luke Schenn if a 2 year extension came with it. Arizona would probably want more than that.

They would probably start at Levi/Savoie, 1st and Krebs.
its not as much that I wouldn't entertain trading those assets for a package centered around Chychrun, more that there's other things I'd want than another top 4 Dman for all those assets. Huge package for a position of want, not a position of need.

I'm seeing some AZ posts saying that they expect two 1st rounders in the 20s and a 2nd or equivalent prospect for JC.

I'd offer the 2023 1st, unprotected and expected to be between 10 and 14 (equals two pics in 20s), Bryson and a 2024 2nd. If Sabres make playoffs and JC plays four games, we throw in 2023 VGK 2nd. I have no qualms about lottery risks.

Also saw some positive reactions to Vejmelka for Portillo and 2nd. Which might be tempting.

From Sabres fans perhaps. If that's all Arizona wants I don't think he'd still be in the desert.

I think Chychrun would slay all depth issues in one fell swoop. He's not the righty Samuelsson that we all would prefer, but I don't think that guy is out there. I don't mind Chychrun playing the left side and splitting the non-Dahlin minutes with Power. He can play both sides anyway, is physical, more offensive but still solid defensively, and totally fits with age of the core. He's a long-term add that we could only hope to find with the 2023 1st.

That said it literally depends on the exact trade package for me. I think the Buf 1st and Philly 2nd is equivalent to most other teams' "two 1sts". After that I'd go with Bryson to offset cap a little (Arz might need that), and a secondary prospect after the big four. That's where the rub could be...they likely demand a big four FW prospect and I'm not sure which one I'd want to part with.

Would you give up the price Mr. C ?

Depends - I agree that something like the Flyer's 2nd, a Sabres' first, and some other piece that isn't one of their big four is about as high as I would go from what @Sabresfansince1980 put together above. But two firsts and a high-end prospect is too much for just a couple of years for me.

Any thoughts on trying to talk P.K. out of retirement for the rest of the year for D depth ?
No assets to give up, 1/2 year salary ?

Off topic. What's in profile picture please?

It is this:

Which is also one person holding cables in a precarious position to play off the old expression of "give 'em enough rope and they will hang themselves" which has always been how I have moderated. So... now you know.
