So much for that,"There is no trades cause its christmas"
If you think trading for a defensive defenseman who has never played an NHL game in 3+ pro seasons is an NHL trade, especially a significant NHL trade, well...

This is a trade of two AHL D one for one. Where have I ever said that AHL trades are unlikely to happen right now?

This whole conversation is about significant NHL trade that would solve the Sabres issues in goal or on defense. This is not that.

I just like that we're not relying on guy traded to Vegas to produce 75%+ of our offense

It is amusing that one of the parts of that trade is again outscoring the primary piece that went the other way. (Yes, yes, I know Eich was owning the puck in a way he never really has before prior to his latest set of injuries.)

A #4/5 dman should not be impossible to acquire mid season. That is the minimum we need to add right now and that's assuming Power is fine. Goalie unfortunately will not be addressed and we can wait for a 4C face-off specialist in free agency. We need whoever is this eras version of Yanic Perreault.
Whatever we need to do to field 18 skaters.

Told you Marek was a closet Sabres fan.
I thought he'd mentioned it before.
He the guy that owns that car dealership?
It is his son.

Here are your top faceoff guys this season (filtered for 100+ FOW so far this season).

Toews is an interesting name to think about if he is available this summer.

It is his son.

His fandom flashed in his almost obsessive anger of Thompson not getting a shot at the record books by his take - and not just tying the modern record, but gunning for seven in that Columbus game.

The two have identical 5v5 scoring metrics. I think Jack leaving was crucial for Tage’s development. So I try not to think about what it would be like having both of them.

I think that had more to do with his consistent takes about marketing the game and wanting records to fall than being Sabres-specific.

I seem to remember that he was a little salty about McDavid sitting most of the third when he had his game with like 6 pts through 40 minutes.

:dunno:

I do not believe Domi is good enough defensively for the bottom 6 role that you would likely want a FO guy to play.

They have collectively grown. It's nice to have a team I actually enjoy watching with personalities I enjoy seeing succeed now.

As for Domi... the vagabond life seems like an indicator of something deeper but maybe that's just me being a grumpy old man.

Domi is very much a bad bottom 6 option due to his d-zone play. WOOOF.

Is Jeremy Davies of Rochester worthy of getting an opportunity here?

I thought he looked good when I watched an Amerks game earlier

Good call.
Sturm is another intriguing name to me. 2 years left on his contract but the sharks really have no use for him in the next couple years.

There's always the possibility they know Johnson will sign. It's not completely out of the question.
Even if he signs - it's a big ask to expect him to come in & perform the way he'll need to.

They absolutely need another bona fide 'top four' guy regardless of the Johnson outcome.

In an ideal world - they identify / add the right trade target sooner than later, then sign Johnson who plays AHL for a short time before replacing Bryson as the long term #5/6 in future.

Seeing how they just signed him this summer, I doubt they move on from him that soon.

As a fellow Clarkson grad, I would love to see it, though.

Call Preds for Fabbro + Jeannot/Trenin
I would be stunned if they moved Jeannot.

As a Clarkson guy you must know it's very likely he's familiar enough with NY weathers to nope the f*** off to SF
