Weal, Forbort & Schultz staying...

Can tell you that these 3 will be around for little bit.

So by process of elimination, Mersch, O'Neill, LoVerde, Berube and Lowry most like being sent down today.

I remember when King took that one. Looked like it SUCKED.
He instantly turned to head to the bench... Then saw play coming back and headed back into position.

**** player skates. I'd wear a goalie boot with a player chassis attached, lol.

Lucic Kopi Gabby
70s
Mersch Weal Brown
Clifford Shore Lewis

Nolan
Andreoff

I like it.

Reading what Scryan said, Props to King for being a warrior, but I hope he didn't make it worse. Warrior Kinger.

ETA: Offensively I like Mersch, Weal, Brown. It could help Brownie get some points. Defensively, there's no way Sutter would put two rookies on the third line. Still, I'd like to see that line together for at least a trial.

I didn't see it but that's awesome, and so King of him.

and  at the goalie boot for forward, oh god I can't imagine. They do make skate guards now. I actually have a set for ice. They look goofy as **** but they've saved my instep about a million times since people like plugging me instead of shooting around me. Then again, I play D, probably wouldn't wear them at forward, but they don't get in the way at all, plus the Pronger ones are carbon IIRC so they're even lighter than my plastic bricks...

"After practice, it was learned that both Muzzin and Greene were deemed “doubtful” to start the season by Darryl Sutter, and King will be out “for an extended period of time,” per Sutter – lots more on that soon – so it remains to be seen whether the club will still open the season with 14 forwards and seven defensemen on the roster. For what it’s worth, when speaking with LA Kings Insider after practice, Muzzin exuded confidence in his ability to step into the lineup Wednesday night against San Jose. In any regards, this is a fluid situation, and there’s still a ways to go before the roster is finalized. It is possible that multiple players could open the season on injured reserve.

Both Jeff Schultz, who also would have had to clear waivers, and Forbort, who would not have to clear, were on the ice with the team Monday morning. "

So, Muzzin probably back soon, Greene maybe not so much, would explain Schultz stepping in as #6. Maybe Forbort w/Doughty Wednesday night, for the first game or two?

Also Mersch was not on the ice and is on his way to Ontario, so not sure how they're replacing King directly. Obviously means Weal/Andreoff in lineup but yeah.

I can see Muzzin playing wednesday. Put Greener on IR retoactive to Saturday 10/3. Keep Forbort till Greener is better, then send him to Ontario.

Lewis will probably shift over to wing, but I hate to see it after his performance with Clifford and Nolan. They were tenacious and complemented each other.

I'd rather see Weal on the wing with Shore and Brown. It's a home game and they can control the matchups. Thing is, Lewis can be trusted to play anywhere and be competent, so moving him to wing is the safer play.

a little bit? does that mean they've not made the team or might be sent down later, or...? thx.

So Hammond reported the Bottom 6 is

Lewis-Shore-Brown
Clifford-Andreoff-Weal-Nolan

Sutter really complains about scoring from the bottom 6 but does this. Shore is a face off monster and responsible defensively but Weal is dynamic offensively, beats me why Shore is over Weal.

Weal will be riding the pine all year long like Andreoff did last year

Well, I guess it worked out now so the Kings don't have to waive one of Weal or Andreoff or send down Shore.

So Forbort is the #7 and Weal is the extra forward?

a little bit due to the injuries being discussed. King, Muzzin & Greene. With Muzzin mostlikey not going on IR, but Greene & King will.

With McBain also being placed on waivers and a decision being made on O'Neill, the Kings could keep O'Neill if 2 go on IR and McBain gets claimed or sent down. That would be 25 guys with 2 on IR to get to the 23 man roster.

I'd like to see O'Neill get a crack at it, even if it's for only a few games. Though he only played, what, 3 preseason games, so Sutter will probably have him selling peanuts out in the crowd and watching the game on the Jumbotron.
