I've always thought that Clifford was rushed, not having played any games at the AHL level, other than a handful of playoff games. Maybe he's finally putting it all together.

Yeah, the problems of being a man child at 19. Never got to offensively dominate, just had to eat people for his entire early 20s

Has Andreoff been definitively good enough to make the roster?

I can understand the waiver argument re: Shore and AA to a point, but the goal is also to ice the best team possible. If a guy isn't able to earn a spot on the roster by the time his waiver eligibility is up, how much longer is he worth protecting?

I haven't seen it. The guy is a 4th line nobody. John Zeiler without the kisses and hits. Didn't see what was worth keeping him on the roster all last year and didn't see what is worth keeping him now. Would much rather keep Mersch, Weal and Shore. Speaking of Mersch, love what I've seen from him. His game down low and around the net seems like a custom fit for the Kings system. Might be a pipe dream but I'd like to see him stick.

I know it's only been a few preseason games so hopefully he'll get better, but Ehrhoff is a straight dumpster fire. He's Jack Johnson plus everything that was bad about Voynov rolled into one. He leaves the front of the net to chase behind or in the corners when his partner is already there, loses board battles, gets out-muscled by guys like Alex ****ing Tanguay. Yeesh. Our D is going to be an adventure this year.

The thing with AA is that he is an improving fourth line. He has improved from last year training camp to this year and has a couple points to show for it. AA has been I'd rather see Shore and Mersch playing on the 1st line in the AHL (playing top Minutes) than playing fourth line (5 Minutes) with the big boys.

Any ideas on when the final cuts take place? Today? Tomorrow?

All I can find from hockey ops is 'prior to the start of the season' which is Wednesday. So technically could be anytime thru Tuesday I imagine, though most teams are finishing up today and tomorrow.

Tuesday is the deadline. I'd rather have Weal then AA but it remains to be seen if he can play a decent offensive role in the NHL. Goodness knows we need it on the 3rd line.

I hope Lucic has another gear because he looks like Penner 2.0

He is Penner 2.0
I have no idea why plaople have any expectations.

He has decreasing stats since years in the Eastern Conference.
What makes people think he will turn it around in the Western Conference is far beyond me.
I'd rather have Williams then Lucic.

Lucic Goals since 10-11: 30... 26... 24... 18
Lucic Points since 10-11: 62... 61... 59... 44
I left out the short season 12-13

I really can't see any reason to make a trade for him
He will put up similar numbers like Brown last year and leave after that to Vancouver.

Thanks, the sooner the better for me....

I'm with you on Weal. He was so impressive in the playoffs, and hasn't looked out of place at all to me. We need to keep the youth coming, and explosive players are preferred.

62, 61, 59 is nothing. 44 looks like an outlier because, like last year's kings, no one was scoring. Bergeron led the Bruins with 55 points. Lucic was tied for third with Soderberg and was third in goals and assists. He was proportional to his team as usual despite the entire team struggling. In other words, he's a complementary player, not a savior, just like Williams. I don't know what people's expecations are, but I haven't seen anyone saying anything ridiculous.

It's fair to say he's at a crossroads in his career and could roar back or decline from here, he is certainly a question mark, but it's not like he's being relied on to carry the puck offensively or anything--just get to the net, bang, protect the puck and cycle. Keep it simple.

For my money, I'm going to bet that line isn't very productive for 5-10 games, then suddenly Lucic looks like he 'figured it out.' Lots of people here seem to think changing NHL teams (for the first time! In looch's case) is like hopping beer league teams. It takes time to get acclimated. NO ONE has come here and been amazing for their first 20 games post-trade. We're just lucky he gets training camp too.

I'll give him a break for preseason but so far he looks like where puck go to die. Not impressed so far. Hope he figures it out.

Could mostly say the same for Gaborik and other forwards not on the 70s line too but people are fixated on the shiny new toy. Veterans and preseason are like oil and water.

The bar wasn't set very high last year by the guys he's replacing. It won't take a whole lot for him to be an improvement.

I'm eager to see Lewis of all guys this year. He had a great preseason and his hands actually look like they are not made of stone. His goal last game from the right dot was pretty.

He keeps King in the bottom 6 if nothing else

Now that I find genuinely funny.

And you know King will be in the top six. I give it twenty games max before he's playing with Slowpitar.

i actually don't think so (ok i maybe drinking my own version of the kool aid ) but i think we would promote mersch or kempe or zykov or whoever the hell is hot from the ahl over moving King up. We have better options hell the way brown is playing he would probably move up before king

Not a chance. DK is this generation's Derek Armstrong. A coach favorite that is splendidly mediocre.

I don't give two ***** about the pitiful preseason. Preseason games mean nothing to me, absolutely nothing.

I couldn't sell my tickets thanks to StubHub's **** ty new website which is pure junk, so I ended up giving the tickets away to my friend and his wife whom thankfully enjoyed the hell out of the games, especially since (according to him anyway) there were four fights in the ANA game.

I'm looking forward to Wednesday's opener. Can't wait to see that new first line kick some ass.

If this team is serious on a cup run they will play the best player available and imo thats not king in top six . Brown will get first shot he play rw or lw with the same effectiveness and yes that more effective then king
