I don't know what the hell you just said, but I kind of agree with you about Shore. Who cares right now though, as long as we're winning. In the playoffs, having a better 3C would make a difference.

we have the 5th best defense and 27 best offense going into tonights game It doesnt make sense to go after a defenseman with our offense sucking so bad.

shore needs to move down at the very least to the fourth line

Our offense has picked it up these last 5-6 games, I would hardly call it sucking. A little more scoring from the other lines would be nice though.

two empty goals arent what i call picking it up offensively Tonight was still another 2 1 win We need more goals Are defense is our strength goal scoring weakness so why are we trading to try and strengthen our strength

I generally agree with you about needing more scoring punch KC but let's not let the numbers completely deceive us either.

Then again, maybe it IS a good thing rolling Muzzin-Martinez as the second pairing, but I would DESPISE to go into a playoff series with any top offense--let's say, Dallas--with Ehrhoff, McBain, and the fourth line out there. We need one more very good defenseman. It could very well be Forbort, but to not even explore moves at this point would be foolish.

We still have a big hole in the defense that Voynov left and Ehrhoff or McBain can't fill it. The defense should look like...

McNabb--Doughty
Muzzin--XXX
Forbort--Martinez
Greene

Keeps Greene fresh for later in the season/playoffs when we need him the most with a Martinez--Greene pairing.

The bottom 6 will get more offense when Weal and King come back in the lineup. Need to get AA out of there.

Gaborik--Kopitar--Brown
Lucic--Carter--Toffoli
Pearson--Shore--Lewis
Clifford--Weal--King

I get what you're saying, but I just don't see a 3C that's going to be dragging Lewis around improving the offense all that much. Kings don't have a lot of cap space to work with so a solid 3C with scoring is going to be hard to fit in.

Fixing the McBain issue is going to need to be addressed by the playoffs. With the rest of the division looking like a dumpster fire at this point, Kings will probably have more room for error this season, and Lombardi can take his time.

Kings need a legit 3-4.

That's a pretty short list. Wideman/Buff, who else am I missing? RHD I'm assuming.

If Detroit continues to stay near the bubble, I bet Helm could be had on the cheap as a rental. I wouldn't hate him as a 3rd line center.

I'm secretly rooting for Florida to suck so we have a shot at Willie at the deadline.

Florida is the Edmonton of the east. Tons of pieces, but perennial ****. It's a bummer they got Luongo. He'll give them a false sense of playoff hope. Guy's a beast and has been very good so far.

Haven't watched Mitchell's game so who knows if he's fallen off. Stat line looks pretty good though, but that's only a part of the story.

Whoa...

Hey guys been waaaaaaaaaay too long since I was around. Watched the Sharks game the other nite first game I seen in a year and half at least. Good to see Tyler Toff growing into a role of scorer supreme and Jeff Carter still looks the same speedy scorer who can steal the puck. Doughty still makes bad passes! LOL
What a surprise there... HAHA
Stoll is in NY and they let or forced Richards out and then got pegged for his contract in a payoff that will last like the next 15 years plus! Brilliance in a Knuttshell! Oh man that smartest guy in the room kinda errored on that one! LOL
And we got the terminal Lucic from Boston! WOW
As Deano loves to say every team needs a guy or two can sling some dirt around! Score one up for us! He has slung his share of cheap shots around the eastern leagues guess it is time to fire off some on the west now... He will be a shot away from being suspended unless he has mellowed allot? Our young defensemen look pretty good so the system of bringing them up to be Kings seems to be well placed. We are still short on scoring forwards but that is par for the course with us usually!Everybody needs scorers!

Just had to say howdy to you all and toss out my thoughts... Have a nice Holloween Mates! Your Pal, Rand-

the ideal player would likely be a defender who puts up a lot of goals/assists - somebody to QB the power play and be a constant offensive threat. The way we play the would need to be defensively good enough to be a legit top 4 player. Unfortunately players like this are very rare and very expensive unless you somehow draft a star. So won't be anything happening here.
we aren't getting a Malkin or Stamkos or anything to help our scoring
but we can score enough to win games the way we play.

What about this guy?

I'm just looking at "bottom-feeder" teams that might make a panic trade. Contract looks good. Shoots right. Good age. Good size. Swap Martinez for him? Or Greene?

No way Columbus moves him....then again Carter

Would cost a lot. Thinking A-mart +
For those who want a #3C I imagine Atkinson could be had from Columbus.

No thanks. He looks too much like a Cabbage Patch Kid.

I think who ever we get will help whoever is playing lw on that line I think we are wasting pearson or gaborik there with shore. Better 3 c and i bet you ll start seeing offense. We will have a extra lw when king gets back I say we will trade a lw for better 3c which lw not positive but thats the way i see it .

I think we are over thinking 6 d spot greene forbort mcbain is a good solid rotation that will play the 12 -15 mins needed

I have no problem with the #6D spot, it's the 3/4 I have an issue with

How about.....

A-Mart
King
Prokhorkin
3rd

for

Savard & Atkinson?

doubt that would be enough for Columbus. King and Atkinson porbably have similar vlaue.
Do we even have Prok's rights? I thought LA no longer did.
So A-Mart + 3rd for Savard....Easy pass by Columbus

Edit: Plus we would not ave the cap space for htis next year as Atkinson makes significantly more than King, and Savard will be making more than Martinez

If we're talking Colubmus I still think Dubinsky would fit perfectly as a 3C, but I don't think they'll part with him, especially now that Johansen is ****ed up.
