I took a peak over at the laffs board and they seem to be doing well over there.

Toronto also has an interesting situation with Marner, Matthews and Nylander on opposing teams. Maybe Nylander can take out whoever was pissing him off last playoffs.

And then there’s Vegas, their plan is clear, Hanifin will “check” Stone who will immediately go on LTIR, with expected full miraculous recovery coincidentally the first game of round one.

William Karlsson is already on LTIR - switched things up this year to be less obvious

4 nations is also not a real tournament but something NHL made up.

I don't think they should rest. Normally once you rest in the middle of the season, you play worse after that. There is of course, a risk of injury but for healthy players those few games aren't a problem.

Agreed. And as far the 4 nations thing. I'm really mostly interested in the Olympics for best on best pros. I'll watch 4 nations with mild interest just because we haven't had a best on best in so long.

Nice props from the writer. But one thing I want to bring up is when he mentioned the loss of Tarasenko. I think most people on the outside don't realize how much impact Mackie has made. I think the top 9 is actually better than last season. Let's face it, Tarasenko was okish. But Mackie >Tarasenko, could be a bigger gap if Mackie continues to play like this for the rest of the season. And Tarasenko was brought in to be an upgrade on what we had before the deadline.
And I know the 4th line is not as good as last season, personnel wise and depth wise. Greer is the only one on par with last season's 4th line. But with the upgrade in the top 9, I think things even out.

I would add Jesper Boqvist in there as well, him and Mackie help round out the top 9 when all are healthy.

What would benefit this team the most IMO is a real puck moving defenseman to generate offense on the backend and PP.
