Well in the two shifts the entire season Pearson has played with Kopitar he set him up for two goals, the only two points listed
Kopitar has as well...

Pearson would be a better fit because he's more playmaker than shooter. We'll see if Sutter ever inserts him on that first line.

i would rather see gaborik move down then brown Brown seems to have recovered his game and is playing much better why mess with it? Gaborik is not playing well and needs to have his mins reduced.

something i'd like to see:

Pearson - Kopitar - Gaborik
Lucic - Carter - Toffoli
Brown - Weal - Lewis
Nolan - Shore - Clifford

Our bottom 6 scored the first goal in the season and hasn't scored a single one since...
i like the idea of seeing what Weal and Brown can do together... i think that 3rd line
has some talent to put some pucks in the net. pearson and kopitar seem to have
a bit of chemistry out there the few times they've been out there.

we also have no goals yet from a defenseman. It's great to have won 4 in a row
but the lack of depth scoring in the bottom 6 and from our D will bite us in the butt
in the long run.

Pearson is a good player with a solid skillset but he isn't going to ever work being the best player on his line.

He's kind of stuck in a tough spot right now if he can't beat out Brown for a scoring line spot.

Pearson-Kopitar-Gaborik
Lucic-Carter-Toffoli
King-Weal-Brown
Clifford-Shore-Lewis

When King comes back if we go with this line up into the playoffs I think we will be very hard to beat. King and Brown offset Weal being a rookie 3rd line center. Shore doesn't have offensive instincts but is very defensively responsible.

Pearson is relentless on the forecheck and can open up lot of space for Kopitar and Gaborik once he gets the puck out of the corner for them. And Shore and Lewis together on the 4th line will give me a sigh of relief knowing they won't be getting scored on.

We can roll 4 lines this way.

I don't see why he can't, other than coaching bias. Brown hasn't been a relevant offensive threat since 2013.

i like these lines... (only means sitting nolan and AA right?)

this year Brown has been our 2nd best winger Why would we mess with that Until Brown starts declining why mess with him

he has ... but also kind of "quieter" since he moved to the top line. solid, but not standing out like he did at first.

then again, almost all lines have seemed quiet compared to line#2, i.e., toffoli.

where would the kings be without toffoli? he is almost single-handedly creating the offense and lifting the team. it's great we're winning but more lines producing would be awesome and make the team rock solid and extremely hard to beat.

I take it as a good sign because you know everyone isn't going to stay dormant forever. Toffoli will inevitably cool off a bit, but the other 11 forwards will pick it up somewhere (and we'll get some defenseman goals too).

Brown has out played kopitar and gaborik on the first line since getting there The problem there is Gaborik He isnt clicking with brown yet. I hope they start soon thou

interesting piece just up at the insider on cultivating scoring...

The Kings have won four straight games, so the urgency of the situation isn’t as pronounced. But if you add up the statistics between the forwards expected to skate tonight on the so-called third and fourth lines, you’ll have a combined 41 games played this season, one Nick Shore goal and two Tanner Pearson assists. No points have been generated to this point by the Clifford-Andreoff-Nolan line.

Nothing new. That has been the Achilles Heel of the Kings for quite a while. When we get scoring throughout we win Stanley Cups.

Heck, in 2013 the team didn't get a single ES goal from a bottom six forward for the entire playoff run and still made it to the WCF. A true testament to the way the core played those three years.

i guess it's the ole "if it ain't broke don't fix it" idea.
but gotta look longterm too.

i agree brad with your earlier point about toffoli. it's true that when one guy's stock drops, another's is likely to rise. yet it wouldnt hurt if a few guys were on the upswing just to cover the booms and busts. king will be returning, too. and maybe a move with pearson might spur some production.

4th line finally delivering us a smidge of help, with the handoff to Kopi. Its a start.
