How many games did they miss the playoffs by? Lewis in the top 6 was the final straw I tell you!!!!




Brown's trying really hard... he is just so frustrating with the puck... how many of his shots are 10 feet wide? I'm really more shocked when he gets one on net then if he fires it completely wide. Brown's leading the team in shots and still has a big goose egg for goals... hopefully he'll find the back of the net at some point. He's skating hard though. Still falls sometimes....

Wait... Browns normally good for some offense against the Oilers. Problem solved.

Wonder what they do once King is back. Hopefully bench Nolan, he's been terrible. But King being a LW and Nolan RW makes you wonder how they'd fit the pieces together.

Right now we have

Gaborik-Kopi-Brown
Lucic-Carter-Toffoli
Pearson-Shore-Lewis
Clifford-Andreoff-Nolan

Assuming we have to slot King in on the left, what does that leave us with? The only guy I know is experienced on the right is Gaborik.

Maybe? Could switch Pearson and King too. Dunno. Probably too early to be thinking about this since King isn't even skating yet... But the 4th line really needs to be able to get their forecheck going and since Lewis is a forechecking machine that'd immediately give them an identity.

Can't fault the guy for trying too hard. Nolan hasn't played well because he is trying to do too much with the puck. He needs to settle his game down; then he will play better.

Shore goes to the ahl because he can without waivers and the we trade king for picks or make a package for a top 4 d after hes shown he can still play

if they can make it work, i'm actually pretty excited about a pearson/lewis/king line. all 3 of those guys are relentless on the boards and chasing pucks, even if none of them are bonafide scorers. the only part of that i don't like is Lewis playing C (far better as a wing imo) but Shore hasn't exactly been lighting it up so it's not a real loss.

a four day break between games, then 4 in 5 days!? I'd like to see Enroth in again for the Edmonton game, then back to Quick for the Winnipeg one. Don't give the Oil any respect, let 'em think we take the Jets more seriously.

Pearson needs to get more minutes than Brown, and has the skills to score more goals. Here is what I would do when King comes back:

I actually like these lines. I'd still like to see Weal in there, but I think these lines will work.

Sitting is obviously between AA and Nolan. Pick your poison. I favor Nolan because he exhibits a little more skill and makes slightly smarter plays, but there's not much of a gap.

Shore has really picked it up the last few games, he's solidified his spot.

I'd still like to see Shore between Clifford and Nolan, and Lewis between Pearson and King.

I actually like these lines. I'd still like to see Weal in there, but I think these lines will work.

I would like to see Weal get another shot, but until AA's game drops I don't think Sutter can justify sitting him.

^ AA has had 2 pretty weak outings the last 2 games. something like 2 of 11 face-offs last game, turnovers, etc. i think weal should've had a shot last game. he was suited up in the warmup.

i don't know about king/shore/brown. weren't shore/brown together in the earlier games when the whole team was looking bad? maybe king will make the difference there? but no matter what i don't really think this shore/lewis/pearson line is working so some shifting there would be good.

For as good as Toffoli has been, Pearson has been equally forgettable. He'll get it together though.

Better, because Shore has been fine and Lewis has been exceptional.

People have too high of hopes for Pearson then. He needs better play makers to excel. All that line does is grind. I guess different opinions....
