For him get to a call up the cupboard would have to be pretty - you finish it I can’t do it ..LGI
Unbearable?

I wanted him on the isles. But we can’t afford to give up that package. Don’t have the team to make that gamble
They play Bennett as a 3C. Both Tkachuks will be in the top 6 but that line would wreck havocTkachuk-Bennett-Tkachuk is going to be an all time rat line.
He’ll be in an NHL lineup come pre-season. Then come the start of the regular season he’ll be playing in Derek King’s hometown of Hamilton. For him get to a call up the cupboard would have to be pretty - you finish it I can’t do it ..LGI
Agreed. I just really love The player and love the element he brings. True throwback power forward.100% true.
That said even if the Isles had the picks...
- Brady didn't do himself any favors this season in terms of showing he's the leader/difference-maker everyone makes him out to be.
- You cannot give up that kind of package for only 2 guaranteed years of a player...Who has a NMC so you couldn't flip him again if he wouldn't resign in his UFA/walk year.

And with all this talk about it being a heavy trade offseason overall - which is wishful thinking from the Hockey media - most likely it will be a very boring offseason.
Would you trade Barzal for that similar package? All future picks no high end prospects? Not saying it would happen but interesting to think about.Right - We're searching for that type of player, but Brady T. ain't it.
Need to find the next Brady T who is under 25.
Tkachuk-Bennett-Tkachuk is going to be an all time rat line.

Getting just picks is risky. Wonder if they put any restrictions on the 2029 1st?
Problem is that you have 4 options for that line with 3 wingers and 2 of them are the special needs brothers. What do you do in this situation?Imagine having an all-time rat line and you're not even putting Marchand on it...
You’re not wrong. Could use them as currency.1000% yes.
Again with respect...Why can't people view picks as just assets that can be re-traded? With 9.1M cap opened up going forward and 3+ 1st rounders in the organization you have so many MORE OPTIONS to build a team around Schaefer.

That’s an insane package. Don’t think Chicago would make that deal. That would be an unprecedented deal. That being said I’d love it.Not necessarily.
I'm sticking with a proposal I mentioned several weeks ago.
Barzal to Chicago for Moore, Rinzel, West, and picks 4, 34, & 66.
If this Tkachuk trade proves indicative of the market (and not just FLA's wet dream scenario - in a period in which their window is still wide open), then I'm thinking Barzal can bring in that type of package because be it Chicago or Montreal or even a Seattle, several teams have more than enough prospect and draft pick depth to pull something like that off while barely making a dent in their system.
If there’s not a lot of prices, replacing Lee with the guy like Mason Marchment might make sense at the right price.

They’re professionals. They’d become best friends and Marchment would go after anybody that goes after Schaefer.Yep, can imagine they're ready to give him the stall next to Schaefer...![]()
Sens flipping those picks for Robertson or Thomas? Surely they have to do something

I came up with a similar package for Barzal but not as many assets coming back.
There is no appetite there for a rebuild right now. Ownership will not sign off.Yeah...
Rebuild.
Yeah and Tkachuk loves it in OttawaIt was reported a few days ago that Thomas is staying put.
We’ll see what happens, they have the capital now to make an offer a team can’t refuse.
