I don't know what the timeline is for Pelech and Pulock, but the interesting question is going to be what happens when they come back? Especially if Reilly and Bortuzzo play well and are good fits. Bolduc wouldn't clear waivers, so he couldn't be sent down. Trade Aho and carry 8 D?

I think waiving Aho and sending him to Bridgeport is the play. I think he clears, but wouldn't shed a tear if he gets claimed.

Pelech-Dobson
Romanov-Pulock
Reilly-Mayfield

Bolduc
Bortuzzo

I know there are some here that think Aho is an NHL starter and an asset with perceived value by others in the league. I’m not one of them. Nothing personal to anyone who feels otherwise.

If Reilly and Bortuzzo are better than Aho and they came via waivers and via trade with a 7th round pick, then that should tell everyone how valuable Aho is.

Aho’s major issue is his size. If he wasn’t the same size as your average 5th grader, he’d be a solid guy. He makes some good decisions offensively and can skate but just gets outmatched physically too easily.

If Mike Reilly has secured the bottom pair LHD and Bortuzzo provides depth on the RH side, should the focus at TDL be a F, and somebody like Shane Pinto - if available?

A move for Pinto would require the 2024 1st and possibly Bolduc and maybe even Wahlstrom (if there is any trade value there), but imagine -

Lee Horvat Barzal
Engvall Nelson Palmieri
Parise Pinto Holmstrom
Cizikas Pageau C'Buck

Wahlstrom seems to be done on this team. If we have an injury I fully expect Martin to magically appear from Robidas Island and get the call over Wahlstrom. Think we can get any value for him from a rebuilder or is it just Joever?

He sucks, he’s a throw in for a deadline deal to improve something.

Depends who gets injured

Martin isn't replacing Palmieri or Holmstrom or similar.

If we deal Wahlstrom, I think it should be for a goalie prospect.

By the time a goalie is ripe, Sorokin will be halfway through his deal and Varly will be his goalie coach.

Some Talk bantering I read about Andrei Kuzmenko.
A 39-goal scorer from last season, the Canucks are reportedly taking calls on 27-year-old Andrei Kuzmenko. While the Canucks have been among the league's best teams this season after a disappointing 2022-23, Kuzmenko's contributions and ice time have been minimal. With only four goals this season, Kuzmenko, a perennial first-line winger, only played 10:36 against the Carolina Hurricanes Saturday night, a season low, and has been a healthy scratch twice already this season.

Sounds like He has fallen out of favor in Vancouver.
He had good chemistry with Horvat there especially on the PP.
Not sure we have the assets to get him though...

I think if Palmieri goes down they’d move Fasching or Gauthier there and play Martin on the ID line

He shot 27% last year. To put that into perspective, if Barzal was shooting 27% right now he would lead the league in goals
