Come on fire the current bozo and get us a real clown.

Third worst goal differential in the East, if that doesn’t get better I think we’re looking at the Calgary game on the 18th as a potential timeline. That game is on a Saturday and the next game is on Wednesday (day before Thanksgiving and then they go right back at it on Black Friday).

They aren't gonna do a thing.

I've been looking at the 4 game west coast trip as a logical time to make a coaching change -either right before or after. We'll see.

Candidates?

Q would be the HOFer option - obvious question is whether the owners/Lou would be on board (I suspect the league might okay it at this point). Then the question is whether that might also get you Patrick Kane?

I know people would hate it, but Darryl Sutter has won a couple of Cups and would certainly get the players' attention, if that's what they're looking for.

You have to think they'd go with an experienced/recycled option. But if they don't, then Jay Leach jumps out as being probably not only the most qualified non-recycled option but also has a connection to Lou.
The team tuned out Trotz in year 4, that was obvious. They got the softer coach that would unshackle the team. Absent Lou making a trade for Horvat, the Isles don’t make the playoffs.

Ever notice Lou keeps making acquisitions around the ‘core’ and the ‘core’ continues to fail to step up and take the reins?

I don’t see this team respecting a fresh coach. It’s a SC winning coach with a pedigree or bust. Toss Lane, get Q. IMO, the NHL will approve it, especially with Lou at the helm.

Q gets the figure skater on board in 40-50 games or you have the mountain of evidence to get out of his contract before the NTC.

Yeah, I kind of agree with this. Which basically means Q or failing that Sutter, or am I missing anyone? It should be a total house-cleaning of the entire staff, and Lee should be asked to step aside as well - all new voices.

I don't see the powers that be inviting a sideshow of distractions in Coach Q (especially with another Blackhawks lawsuit dropping recently).

I'd take Claude Julien or Bruce Boudreau if they get back into the league.

In favor of this idea.

Boudreau would be my choice. I think he would instill some more accountability and has experience to maybe fend off the Long Island Country Club feel. Not saying that has set in yet. I know he is a retread as many coaches are, but he may give the team a bump for a couple of years. It is very rare that a Barry Trotz type stays in a coaching position for like 15 years anymore.

I just don't like Lane's body language on the bench and this is a big assumption by me, but may struggle with communication. I prefer a HC to be truly the bench boss and that a team takes on their identity.

Seriously, let’s not pretend we thought the season would be any different that as of now. Anyone who believed otherwise was always delusional.

There are serious flaws in the team and they were pretty obvious long before the puck dropped. Lambert may be a bad coach and may well take the fall but Lou is the one who amassed this roster. If Lambert is made to take the blame then Lou should be next in line.

I've been saying Sun the 19th for a bit now. But this Sun the 12th wouldn't shock me either. One of the bookends to a west coast trip would make sense.

A no show loss at home against the Caps would prompt Lou to lower the boom…and temporarily deflect attention away from himself.

What Coach Q allegedly did or more accurately failed to do is inexcusable for me. As an authority and father figure for young men, some barely past high school age, we should expect and demand better.

Count me out on him.

I never care about what guys do in their personal lives if it leads to a team winning. That being said I would never support Q. There is some saying about how if 70% of people support the death penalty that 100% of people support the death penalty for child predators. Q knew and didn't do shit. f*** him.

Go get Sutter.

But it wasn’t his personal life, it was his professional life.I too say F..k him. No way Lou brings that type of controversy onto the team.

I have no clue how to even think of their play for tomorrow's game. The Devils look lost against the Caps.
