The Sharks are literally going to set records this seasons for futility. I mean there's tanking and then there's whatever they're doing. They might not win 10 games.
They're not tanking. They're just historically awful. They won't win 10 games. They still haven't won any.

You know, for all the shit we rag on about the islanders

We aren't the Oilers
I’m loving the smackdown of the Oilers. Last season all the media salivated over their 2 players and no one else as gonna win the Cup.

Then it was, they really should have beat Vegas. This offseason, this craptasticly built team in a weak division is getting smoked every night while all the media labeled them as a SC contender.

Maybe they just need another lotto pick?

woke up, looked at the scores, saw Edmonton lost again and thought the exact same thing.

and too....would it not be nice to be playing like Vancouver. :)
It would.

With Jack's injury, Quinn is the best Hughes, and the best player in the league right now. Back in 2018 I'd have picked him 3rd overall. Could make a good argument now that he ought to have been drafted before Dahlin. Sometimes what he does doesn't look spectacular, but I suspect that's because I can't see the full ice on a video feed. That first goal (which was an "own goal" - but only because the defender had to deflect the puck or it would have been a goal anyway) was gorgeous - makes a sweet outlet pass, doesn't admire it, but gets to the right spot to continue the play, then makes another sweet pass.

Florida, Buffalo, Ottawa, Montreal, and Columbus have all rebuilt or acquired big name players the last few years. And are all behind the Islanders in the standings.

They’ll have 1 win confirmed as a shutout vs the Islanders this year. I’m calling it now in advanced.

OEL at $2,250,000 would look pretty darn good right now.

They need to get a defense that isn't all offense. Its the inverse situation of the islanders.

Keep to the topic - you want to chat about oilers or sharks do it on the thread dedicated to that -

To get this back on topic, it just looks like the islanders don't want to give Gauthier a fair shake at all. I would really like to see him with Barzal over Wahlstrom, but this is on coaching. Do they just trade Gauthier?

How can you trade a guy who never plays? Release him.

Gauthier has done nothing his entire nhl career. Why is anyone clamoring to see him in the lineup? Again, If you see Gauthier in the lineup, that means things have drastically gone sideways.
