I see your sarcasm and raise you some of my own.

Ishakov making this team will be an tall order for him. If he even has a cup of coffee on the Island it will be a short stay.
Im not gonna be sarcastic but I did like Bolduc on PP2. If we are talking about the way they move the puck, I really like Bolduc more than Aho. There's very good potential with Bolduc, especially in that small sample size. Also he can skate and definitely help play as a trailer to Barzal.

Bolduc looked slow and was burned a few times during his limited play last year when called up.

Mainly in the playoffs. Thats what happens when you throw a kid to the wolves as well.

For sure, and I don't think he was eased in well but after seeing that I wouldn't be penciling his skating in as a strength until he shows he can turn it up when necessary. He lacked urgency at times when he needed it.

I think that was a hesitancy, to avoid getting burned. He will learn to play his reads better.

Bolduc’s skating wasn’t a red flag in the AHL. Admittedly the NHL comes at a player much faster than the A.

Kind of want us to throw Kessel a contract, just so I can see him walk around NYC eating hotdogs. I mean, he'd be nice on the PP as well

The american winger Lou should be targeting is Kane. If we get off to a hot start I bet he would consider coming here. How it fits in the cap is the question, but he wouls certainly improve the PP and our top 6.

Sort of feel Kane already has an under-the-table deal and his destination picked out already, but yes of course it would be very nice to have him.

Any suggestion that any Isles prospect wins a role on the roster this training camp is not grounded.

This is a perfect example of heaping too much expectation on a promising young player. And if they don’t reach those heights all at once - these young players get lambasted by the fans on this board. By all means, get excited by George and Maggio, but understand they need further development to even be in the conversation. George is still in the CHL and Maggio has played 5 Pro games.

A 2-week training camp is not a large enough sample size to make those types of roster decisions. The camp is part of the process of development for these young players - they have a strong rookie camp- that translates to hopefully a strong training camp with the rest of the team and that builds confidence which ultimately helps that young player have a successful year and future camps.

Dufour and Isk should come in blazing and gunning for people's jobs and if it doesn’t happen then they should continue their strong play to start the AHL so they are ready when they are needed to be the next ones up.

Foot speed.... He seems to have good Hockey Sense but needs to get motivated into better positioning....

No Thanks, let him chase and sniff Stanger Jock Straps...

Dude is 35 and just had major hip surgery. Let one of the free agent happy teams like Toronto have him.

The roster is set. No one from the prospect pool or Bridgeport is making the team.

But, if you want a bit of excitement the only interesting bit is if Holmstrom starts in Bridgeport or not and who of Kuhlman, Gauthier and Fasching loses a roster spot. That's all there is.

I believe Holmstrom will make this team at this point he should be able to beat out Gauthier, Fasching, and Johnston.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda, he's basically the only contract among the top 15 NHL forward candidates who doesn't have to go through waivers to be sent down.

For him to stick out of camp would have to mean he just kills it from Day 1 while other fringe players really look anything from totally bland to bad.

At 35 he would still easily be our best forward. If he is anywhere near 100% hes a PPG+ player, and he wouldnt require a longterm commitment.

I dont thinn we are landing him anyway, but he is still an elite player that shows up when it matters. He would he an X factor for this team.

Well, the first part isn't true. And, the second part is hard to fathom considering he had a surgery that basically nobody has come back from 100%.

Who would be better? Maybe an argument for Barzal, but a healthy Kane is likely still better. He put up 92 points 2 seasons ago and 57 in 73 games last season on 1 leg playing mostly with a God awful Hawks team. Even at 85% Kane vastly improves the PP and will put up a lot of points.

I wouldnt bet against a future 1st ballot hall of famer that has shown no signs of slowing down prior to his injury. Agree to disagree.
I understand and you may be right. And yes, he showed no signs of slowing down prior to the injury. But, now it's after the injury.

It's likely academic anyway. If his trade demands are any indication, he's not willing to play for the Islanders.
