I would be ALLLLL for that. Feel like he'll have enough suitors that his discount won't be that low, and he'll probably pick some country music-loving southern state since that is what lead him to Nashville originally.
Carolina seems a good bet.

Why would he choose to do that? I mean, Ottawa would like that. I don't think he would do anything besides accept the qo and skip off into the season.
True, I’m wondering more on the timeline if he gets traded. But thinking it out now… he likely does the same for any team trading for him.

So here is the thing I don’t get caught up in ironing down specific trades, because it’s silly to do so. Since neither of us are actual GMs or truly know where the market will go.

With that said, based on previous comparables this offer seems to be in the ballpark. Even if it was Pageau over Palmieri. That initial deal could still work in reality. I personally hope not, but that’s just my opinion.

So that’s to say, I won’t say yes or no. Will say there is possibility of a trade there. Personally, I do hope the Isles trade rather than add via free-agency. Would rather upgrade the wing wile moving cap out.

Would also prefer Nylander over DeBrincat. But not going to immediately scoff at the notion of acquiring him.

Obviously what we say has no meaning.
It's simply to forecast what a likely deal would look like based on knowledge and understanding as followers of NHL.

We don't need more retreads . . . Neither Malgin nor Gurianov when we have players looking to make the team already in Bridgeport. Gurianov can't play for Montreal, but can for us?
It sounds like Christian Fischer will not be getting a QO from the Coyotes. He might be worth a shot.

Because he isn't on duct tape
No put some effort into explaining why that player. To my knowledge he doesn’t kill penalties or is particularly good defensively.

So other than an occasional flash of skill what will he provide this lineup? An extra half dozen goals? And at what cost against defensively?

You want to get rid of Clutterbuck? Ok, then why not get someone who actually can do what he does… but better?

Of course. I meant it more as, the offer is already reasonable to merit consideration. Even if I’m still not sure I would do it. But more so, there is no sense in quibbling over it as it often happens on the mainboards.

Everyone gets set in their ways about an extra pick or prospect just to try and even it out.

I don’t expect us to sign any notable free agents just looking at the money and trying to keep our own guys. I don’t see how we have the room if we’re gonna get a top 6F or top 4 D type of upgrade it’s gonna come via trade

I actually prefer this, free agency just a couple of days after the draft. It takes the hype away and the big name going to the isles rumors out of the inevitable heartbreak.
The islanders were in on player X, player X has strong interest in the isles. Blah blah blah. Every year lol

Yes. But if the Isles can’t keep their guys… then it means something will have to give. Additionally, other teams may be forced to make trades. But I get excited by any kind of player movement… so I plan on enjoying the free agency period.

Also, some of Lou’s comments (I paraphrase)…

“We want to bring our guys back, but they have to want to come back. Also there are things we can do”

I’m not so sure the first priority is to try and bring everyone back. Actually it feels more of a fall back plan. Seems to be playing out that way thus far.

Fischer seems like the kind of guy our staff likes. Only thing is does Fasching make him a bit redundant?

Acciari.

That's Providence College alum, Noel Acciari.

last 2 seasons
Matt duchene 140 points over last 2 seasons bought out 8 million cap hit. (please come to Elmont on a Zach Parise like deal )
brock Nelson 130
mat Barzal 110

then 38 year old Perry gets 4 million ….OMFG

I've been poking around the Sens board and FWIW it seems like some of them would be okay with JGP in a deal, and they seem interested in some bottom 6 grit. Would JGP, Wahlstrom and Johnston be remotely close? Or would they be interested in Clutter? Then sign Acciari (assuming TOR lets him go, which it appears they might)?
