Couple UFAs that might be on Chris Lamoriello’s radar based on the group 6 and No QO free agent list…

Logan Brown - C - 6’6” center and former 1st rounder, was essentially PPG in the AHL two seasons ago
Lucas Carlsson - left shot D with 20 goals 34 assists in 61 AHL games last season

Curious to see if they try and add another guy in the way they did with Fasching

Logan Brown could be interesting, he was always supposed to be a project, I wonder if his skating has improved since his draft year? I haven't seen him lately and you can never have enough center depth.

Jordan Eberle just turned 33 years old and has never had a 40 goal season, has only one 30 goal season and it was a dozen years ago. He has had over 7PPG only once as well, that same sophomore season. His career averages per82 are:

24.6 goals- 32.8 assists- 57.4 points- 4.8 power play goals

Alex Debrincat is 25 years old has had 3 seasons of 30+ goals, twice netting over 40 and has netted 9+ power play goals in EACH of the last 5 seasons. His career per82 in just six seasons are:

34.1 goals- 33.9 assists- 70 points- 10.5 power play goals

As mentioned above, Alex also hits people, having some 413 hits in his career (68.8 per year) including passing the century mark the last two seasons while Jordan has ONE season where he amassed 60 hits in a season (39.7 per year).

There is absolutely no comparison between the two...

At this point, I’d be looking at him for competition with Andreoff and Koivula down the middle in BPT.

Good for Trotz, threw out a trial balloon while coaching about wanting to be a GM with two franchises that had old dudes in their current spots that he was aligned to (he wasn’t going to WAS). Lou said, not here. Nashville said sure.

The tear down is the easy part. The build is the hard part that wears on the fans (and owners pockets).

Funny how Trotz the GM seems willing to trust kids more than Trotz the Coach . . .

Except Eberle is on a shorter term deal at $5.5M that isles fans had an issue with. Debrincat is most likely gonna be 6-8 years for $8M.

Most teams right now would take Eberle due to the flexibility. You are 100% stuck with Debrincat if you sign him or you can Duchene him in 3/4 years…

The big issue with Eberle was he became ineffective as the Isles went deeper in playoffs.

Well there's no way to rebuild without kids...

Also I think this is more about Duchene's attitude than anything else. Always been questioned and I think Trotz puts a value on character as much as anyone.

If you're viewing the Predators long term I think it was the right move.

Give me Nylander, fulfill the last name prophecy!
Put him on a line with "Isle-Anders".

I wanted Nylander his draft year, so I'd be okay with that. And Treliving could sign Bailey for $1M to play on Tavares' RW again and the circle would be complete.

Nylander > Debrincat

Pulock for Nylander and resign Mayfield?
Not a crazy thought. But then is Mayfield top 4 or do you go out and get another RHD?

This really comes down to whether Lou thought Nylander was a nice, respectful young man when he was in TOR. ;)

Duchene is certainly intriguing depending on the price tag. Doubt he'd have interest coming here though, probably stay south somewhere, or try and go home to the Loafs.

Sign me up for Duchene on a 4.5x3 deal, guy can certainty still play. One year removed from 40g season and had almost 60p last year. Didn’t live upto his 8mill AAV but at 4.5-5 he would instantly make this group way more dangerous. I see him slotting into Engvall spot nicely with palms and Nelson. Or we stack line 1 with him and horvat/barzal. Give the team options to balance out offense as he can always drop into 3c roll and pageau can move into wing if they wanna mix it up. If isles want DeBrincat I would rather give duchene 4.5-5 and keep assets. Just can’t go crazy with term 3 years….4 max if it’s needed to get it done. If they can find a way to get him and engvall both locked in with wahlstrom back, they can have probably the best offense we have seen in a very long time.

Wahlstrom-horvat-barzal
Duchene-Nelson-Palms
Lee-JGP-Holmstrom
Martin-CC-Fasching
Clutter

Then maybe take a flyer on a cheaper RD. Actually liked the idea of Lucas Carlsson on a cheap deal as another poster mentioned. Put up some nice offensive numbers in AHL. Split pulock and pelech let them pair with Aho and Carlsson. Sign another cheap vet and see if you can get lucky with a cheap add.
