Mayfield is better
I would tend to agree. But Mayfield is going to come with a 5 mil price tag and term. Not sure we can do that.
Mayfield is better
IDK, there's a decent number of RHD available as UFAs and not a ton of cap space out there. And ultimately we're talking about a third pairing guy. Mayfield might get more like $4M on the market and might therefore take $3.5M-ish with NYI.I would tend to agree. But Mayfield is going to come with a 5 mil price tag and term. Lol. I was in such a rush to dust off the snowblower reference I guess I forgot the change last year. I'm giving him credit for the moves regardlessSakic isn't GM anymore, but I'm not sure what his current influence is on the GM.
He played very well, not Bob-like, the team is structured to minimize shots against and protect the goalie - they’ve been chewing through goalies year over year, and going deep each one except last year when they missed the playoffs.
I would say he just needed to be Osgood and he was. Now, is he gonna live up to his new contract, unlikely. Good for Vegas they weren’t fools like STL and signed Binnington to his absurd deal.
Funny how Vegas spits players out when they think their time is done or are underperforming and fans get all lit up about it. In Isles country, there’s holding onto all kinds of old dogs, shiny dogs with wings that can fly hoping they become their fantasy image of their projections, and spending all the energy on Josh Bailey. Vegas = Cup. Isles = No Cup.
Cal Foote not QOed, that's someone I'd target

6'5" 224lbs, Right Handed, and 24 years old. Why wasn't he qualified?
He was talking about Hill.Barbashev isn't a goalie though.
He was talking about Hill.
Third sentence was about a third string goalie. You quoted a segment talking about Barbashev.

He's not very good right now, but at 24 years old and likely minimum wage, it might be a good chance to take for the 3D spot. Still think he has some potential.6'5" 224lbs, Right Handed, and 24 years old. Why wasn't he qualified?
His skating and decision making aren't great but at league minimum you see if you can maximize his shot, reach and meanness. He's not very good right now, but at 24 years old and likely minimum wage, it might be a good chance to take for the 3D spot. Still think he has some potential.
I don't hate Lee, but he lost a ton of board battles this year. He's not nearly as effective as he used to be and it's only going to continue to decline with every passing year. I knew his contract would be brutal on the tail end but you can't lose Lee and Tavares the same offseason. It is what it is.I don’t get all the anders Lee hate. Guys continues to hover around 50 points potting 28 goals the last two season, for $7 million and as the teams captain I would say that is pretty reasonable.
The guy has never been fleet of foot, his job is to battle around the net. Imagine if the isles could take advantage of his big body in front of the net on the pp and get some shots through for him to tip?
And rainy days in February on leap years? You are some kind of special,How do those numbers look w/o Dougie Weight hockey?
Thank you.And rainy days in February on leap years? You are some kind of special,
Isn't he one of those "2018 Canada" ?6'5" 224lbs, Right Handed, and 24 years old. Why wasn't he qualified?
Also the agent for Kostin and Tarasenko.
It's gotta be bitter for them to give up Smith, but that Barbashev-Eichel-Marchessault line was dominant at the end of the regular season, and then dominant in the playoffs - an excellent mix of a bang, class, and snipe. It would have been malpractice not to keep it together. At least they did Smith a solid with where they sent him, because he's got a good chance to hit 30 goals playing with Malkin or Crosby. Not super pleased to see him back in the east. He used to abuse NYI when he was on Florida. They chose Barbashev over Reilly. While, IMHO, Reilly has more natural talent, Barbashev is the kind you win with in the playoffs.
This Varly news does nothing for me. Yay, we have our aging backup for another go around.
Pretty fair deal to dump Bailey's contract. Figured it would take a 2nd but being a 2026 second is pretty sweet (you're talking about a player who would be in the NHL 2028-2030 if he even makes it).
Happy to get that cap space. Makes the offseason a little more interesting.
