If you factor in their contracts that evens their value out, IMO. First, the Isles could deal Barzal anywhere they want, whereas TOR can only deal Marner to where he wants to go (edit - that's after 7/1, but the clock is ticking). Marner's cap hit is $1.75M higher than Barzal's, and Marner is a UFA in 2 years whereas Barzal has 8 years left. Heck, it's possible TOR would need to add.Marner is a superior player to Barzal even if you correct for positional value. This is a trade that won't happen. It'll take Barzal + to make a deal like that happen.
