If you listen to the 32 Thoughts pod that just dropped the Dubas talk sounds very much like the islanders
I just listened to the Dubas part and yeah, the Isles would be a team that would fit what Friedman was describing. Add to that the silence and the prior relationship between Lou and Dubas and it's not a crazy thought. We'll see.

The logic here escapes me.

Bob has been good, not great, in Florida’s run this year. His contract is still an albatross. And Adin Hill is making $2.175M. How does he explain that?

I don’t see how any of that impacts the Isles. The Isles need to sign Sorokin because he’s the cornerstone piece of the franchise and an elite goaltender in his prime.

The isles should keep Sorokin for just under 8M and 7 years. Anything more is a hard pass

However, I think that the idea of a good goalie is BS, and you just need to have a goalie who fits your system (like the Knights/Avalanche/Wild). Its why I always want to keep Korn around.

I’m sure he’ll excel at getting an aging core to the cup, given how good he was at getting a high skilled young core to the cup…..

At least now the Toronto national media can stfu about him.

Not exactly, now they can compare his work with Treveling’s.

Robert Mastrosimone's a 2019 2nd rounder by DET, from Bay Shore. Wonder if we luck into a hometown prospect signing with his hometown team if he doesn't sign in DET by August deadline

This would be a great add, prospectwise.

Hope management is keeping an eye on the situation.

Then again, if Detroit knows this now, they'll looked to flip him while they can.

Some teams bite on such opportunities if they can determine they can sign the player...

As to why he wouldn't want to sign with Detroit, the reasoning may be very obvious. That team has been drafting gobs of players in recent years and has a very difficult pathway to their NHL team.

I can see it now...

"Goal by Bobby Mass, assisted by Matty Mags, bada bing, bada boom".
