Lmao

With the desperation in this goalie market I take back everything I said about trading Varly. I thought the best we could do is a 2nd round pick. I was probably wrong.

Yep- I feel like Lou may have been able to take Dubas to task on Varly here. Desperate, high profile team, that hasn't gotten out of the first round in forever. I understand the importance of the tandem but awfully tempting for either a high pick, Robertson or Knies.

That goalie situation for TML is awful.

This is the Matt Murray who is 15-25-3 with a 3.11 GAA and .899 save percentage the last two years, yes???

My god Varly would net a 1st rounder and a 2nd....

But Lou hanging up the phone cuz' he likes his tandem....

Europe bound if he’s smart

Take a year or two and see if he can regain some goal scoring prowess

Dal Colle. Good kid but looking back so disappointing. I had such high hopes for him. He was my favorite player in the Draft. Was ecstatic we drafted him. Wish him well if we don’t re-sign him.

Won’t the bigger rinks in Europe further expose his lack of skating ability??

I’d rather not give the Laffs a good goalie. If we are going to trade Varly I’d rather send him out west.

Sorry if already posted. Regardless, this is insane if true. I give Friedman the benefit of the doubt here, but what GM treats an asset like that? Do they really think teams are going to blindly trade for a guy they can’t talk extension with?

He's not the only one saying this either, so it's probably true. LL walking away in that case was obligatory.

Never got over the hump I guess. What would his QO have been?
Not sure, but his numbers weren't bad this year for a 3rd pair (behind Werenski and Gavrikov - a pretty tough combo in front of him.

Carlsson is 6'5", not bulky, 38 games, 2G and 7A and a plus 6. Would play the same role here with Mayfield. Two mobile 6'5" defenders together. Only 25 years old. Columbus has a lot of LHD and Scott Harrington in the AHL.

He's a former first round pick and I think he is a nice fit for us and a lot cheaper than Kulak, Cole, Leddy, etc. Rotate him and Salo according to the needed matchup.

It's not a good trade by any means, but I have to say that the several Ottawa games I watched (watched a few because Norris is on my fantasy league), Murray kept them in games. Their defense was brutal. Those numbers are deflated due to the team around him. He's not gonna be a gamechanger for Toronto, and will probably be just like Campbell, but he's not as bad as those numbers make him seem.

Finally.

The era of the 2nd worst garth snow pick is finally dead.

*That said wondering if a few fringe Isles fans are holding out hope for Dal Colle to become a "checking forward" and Ho-Sang to become "the best player in his draft class."

I just want skill added to the forward group; bring on a Kane, a Kadri, a Johnny G, another form. The roster, as currently constructed, is a bubble WC team who will have trouble winning a round with a novice coach.
