....Well that and one particular team going all-in for Bedard.
I don't see what the issue is with that. Good for them for going for it.

He’s been extremely underwhelming his entire NHL career.

I can’t remember who signed Marleau to that brutal deal
Lou and it was a solid deal because the ENTIRE intent was to babysit and mentor Mathews - it's worked out just fine to invest like that in Mathews.

He really struggled last year. That's a wild card one.
Yes he did for sure.

And in 2018-19 he was lights out good for us in winning the Jennings.

I am not expecting either of those performances but rather the two sandwiched between (last one with us and first with the Wings) where his numbers were very comparable to Varlamov's (slightly better actually) two seasons with us that sandwiched his Vezina votes accured 2020-21 season....

Do we know who NYI qualified? No, we dont? Of course not...

Lou put down your glass of chianti and write a press release, it's 2022 for christ's sake.

Washington would likely pay a pretty penny for Varlamov, but NYI would be weakening their goaltending while improving a division rivals.

Why? They can get Kuemper for free. And Kuemper doesn't have many options left to get any term.

Definitely interested in Milano, he had a strong breakout year (and the metrics aligned), but not sure where he fits because NYI hordes overpaid depth players like Josh Bailey hordes chains.

There's like two starters on the market right now with one of them rumored to be going to Edmonton. I'd be surprised if Kuemper gets less than 4 years 5M per.

Former first rounder

Colorado did not get a discount with Nuke, I like the player but that contract is a gamble in my opinion.

And Sam Steel! I don’t get this one.

Steel isn’t particularly an NHL player at this juncture, but would a nice gamble for a team looking for cheap scoring depth (NYI doesn’t really apply here IMO).

He should follow Marleau, Thornton, Spezza, etc. to success in the promised land...

If he is angry at the Pens for not giving him a final, golden parachute deal like Letang, I think he signs with the Capitals or Rags to spite them.

He seems like a surly, dbag on the ice, who takes any perceived slight personally, so maybe he follows suit when picking his next team too.

If he wants to sign with NYI, then heck take the gamble.

I wonder if Malkin moving on, does Johnny see an opening in PIT. Would be a great move for PIT and he gets 3-4 years of playing with Sid.

Would love to see Lou bring him in.
It’s a signing I’d like because he probably wouldn’t cost much and he’s the type of guy that can play regularly as a 3rd liner but fill in the top 6 without it hurting us.

With what money? Idk

Guhle still has potential. I’d bring him in for depth and see what happens

There's players with value and cap hits the team could easily trade.

They could also buyout Palms and save like $3M capspace.

Always liked Sam Steel.

Would like to see Sonny here but doubt it. Habs?

D**KS like him are greedy and usually just take the highest offer thinking it's owed to them
