Does anyone seriously believe Lou wouldn’t be the one actually still in charge if he moved up to president, especially if it’s his son taking over the GM role?
Yeah that's why I'm skeptical that such an arrangement takes place. Lou was VERY adamant about wanting "complete control of hockey operations" when taking this job. I can see him taking a lesser, more consultative role elsewhere. Such as Nashville. But I think with NYI, he will either be all in, or all out.

Celebrity gif. Actor Andrew Lincoln sits on a live panel. He raises his arm with his index finger extended as if to point as the word This appears above his head.

Hard to figure out what went wrong that wasn't coach related despite going 14-7 without Barzal. I can say that the lack of aggressiveness across the board could be on the coach, the PP being rotten probably is, and the lack of scoring and shots on goal for stretches.

To me you can't fire Barzal, so Lambert goes.. and I want Travis Green as the coach, I think he did a lot with little in Vancouver and won a coach of the year. He is the guy that is right for this team.

I think a great offensive defenseman and a coaching change may be enough to make us finally get over that hump. I think the team we have is solid just not playing in the right system to maximize efforts.

The Isles have not drafted consistently well since Jimmy D left for the Wings.
Bill Torrey stated when the draft age went from 20 to 18 it changed everything, much more difficult

He was right, huge difference between a 20 year old and an 18 year old

Lambert not speaking to the media seems to be an indication he may be on his way out. Who would you all like as a replacement? Laviolette, Boudreau, he who shall not be named (Quennville) are available, and I'm sure some others. So who’s your hire?
NO to Boudreau. NO to Laviolette.

Quenneville. yes

If Gallant is fired, then Gallant might be interesting. brunette is another target.

Other candidates are Jeff Blashill and Travis Green.

Queneville......NO.

Sorry - There are things more important than sports and what he, and many others, did while at the Blackhawks is unforgivable.

And Gallant....Why would you ever want a rangers castoff - Much less one who literally wears out his welcome everywhere he coaches after like 2-3 seasons?

Because Gallant is a good coach and better than what is available. not sure I would pin the Rangers’ disappointment on him.

What if Lou did not resign Mayfield and instead made a move for Provorov? It would most likely involve 2024 #1 + 2024 2nd + Bolduc + Bailey to help with cap.

This pushes Romanov down to the bottom pair and maybe Lou signs Schenn for just over 1m to round out bottom pair .

Gallant has caved in many playoff series. Don't want Gallant at all. Any time a guy gets outcoached by Jack Capuano, hard pass.

Rumblings that Corey Schneider will be GM and LL president. :sarcasm:
He took the Rangers to the conference final last season

I mean, Lou doesn't say much anyway. If the same roster is brought back (for the most part), this will once again be a bubble team. Perhaps a better coach can coax more out of them. We shall see how things unfold.

I like the Fasching signing, he should be a replacement for Clutter/MM on the 4th line next year. He's more cut out for the 4th line.

Sure, let's mortgage the future even more and make sure this team remains in cap hell for the foreseeable future. Bailey, a 1st 2nd and and our best D prospect?? Jeeez...

And Ziggy Palffy as assistant coach. A kiss after every win!
Well Trent Hunter can be the other GM, j/k

Green is the best option. I feel that he did not have much to work with in Vancouver and is an Islander guy. I think he would open up the offense more.

A name not mentioned is Vigneault, if the Islanders stay old... he loves coaching older guys, he is terrible with younger players, so if we resign Parise, keep Bailey and maybe add Okposo back we can use Vigneault lOL
