Amazing what a tan can do.
Idk he seems to run himself out of town pretty quickly, even when he has success...gotta be a reason. I'd still give him a shot as I'm not enamored with our current coach(es) at all.Because Gallant is a good coach and better than what is available. not sure I would pin the Rangers’ disappointment on him.
Well Trent Hunter can be the other GM, j/k
Green is the best option. I feel that he did not have much to work with in Vancouver and is an Islander guy. I think he would open up the offense more.
A name not mentioned is Vigneault, if the Islanders stay old... he loves coaching older guys, he is terrible with younger players, so if we resign Parise, keep Bailey and maybe add Okposo back we can use Vigneault lOL
He looks like a road rage incident waiting to happen.Something about that guy seems unhinged.
Lou is sleeping? It's been 5 days and, unless I missed something, total crickets. Maybe it's nothing. Or maybe not.
Yeah....a little silenter than normal Lou silence.....It's been 5 days and, unless I missed something, total crickets. Maybe it's nothing. Or maybe not.

If he really were sleeping we’d have heard his CPAP machine and not crickets.Lou is sleeping?
Panthers laugh and hang upAfter watching the Panthers in playoffs...I would trade Barzal for Tkachuk,...
Am I out in left field?
Tkachuk is a top 5 player in the league, Barzal is not. After watching the Panthers in playoffs...I would trade Barzal for Tkachuk,...

The funny thing is, you think you’re out in left field for overvaluing Tkachuk, but it’s not even close in the opposite directionAfter watching the Panthers in playoffs...I would trade Barzal for Tkachuk,...

The move for Provorov does a few things with regards to the Cap and the Philosophy of play - it allows the team to move on from Mayfield with a YOUNGER (he is 26) more skilled PMD man who is strong in his own end. Provy’s contract has 2y @ 6.65. Vs. Mayfield’s potential 4-5 years @ 4.5-5 aav. Provy helps the PP and can log big minutes. He was a Norris Trophy candidate when he was paired with Niskanen and I wonder with a change of scenery that he could find that form. He reminds me a lot of Lindholm and Ekholm and the Isles could see the benefits that the Bruins and Oilers received.Sure, let's mortgage the future even more and make sure this team remains in cap hell for the foreseeable future. Bailey, a 1st 2nd and and our best D prospect?? Jeeez...

The Cap situation is also aided with finding a landing spot for Bailey and his 5 AAV.
With regards to futures, it will hurt to lose another 1st rounder and 2nd rounder as well as Bolduc but this team is built for now and the priority should be to improve the roster not restock the prospect cupboard. The same roster cannot return - there needs to be new blood and Provorov is 26 not 32 or 30.
Go watch his locker clean out media appearance todaySomething about that guy seems unhinged.

20 years. Crazy.I'd can Lambert and bring in Laviolette for Round 2, 20 years later to right a Milbury Wrong.
He took the Rangers to the conference final last season

I dont know what the future holds, but i'm worried. That article didn't say much, it was just a bunch of fluff.
i see it differently, Lou is still a respected figure in nhl circles. See what Parise said about playing for him again and what others have said, even Dubas has waxed poetic when asked about Lou. I think him stay as president is fine, and we have no idea about Chris as a GM let alone any other younger GM we’d bring in. He has worked in nhl front offices for years so he has paid his dues. I also would think any young GM is going to call shots, why would Lou give up position to pull strings in background? I don’t think isles are forcing Lou out so he has no reason to walk away unless he wants to.I see it as the exact opposite.
You shouldn't usually hire a GM unless he's ready to take over that spot (and not just your current backup goalie). It's one thing if your GM seeks consult in a respected colleague...It's totally embarrassing if a GM was hired before they were ready and had to lean on the team president to make moves.
Even further...My problem is that no great GM is going to want to work under Lou because, right or wrong, I'm sure they will expect he will meddle in the GM's business and he won't have full control/final say as to what he wants to do.
It's why Lambert was the *easy* choice as coach, and why Chris Lamoriello would be the *easy* choice as next GM. It would be a horrible move, but it feels like to me Lou has control over Malkin/Ledecky the way snow had control over wang.
We need to get off this salve mindset that if we don't have Lou around we can't survive. Plenty of other teams out there winning Cups that have never had Lou even intern there.
What about Julien, I could see him as candidate. I do think something is up considering Lou snd Lane haven’t said anything. Who conducted the exit interviews, had to be Lou I’d imagine even if he’s going to give uo the GM role. Players never said anything and don’t think anyone asked them.Vigneault doesn't understand defense first hockey and his teams are all run and gun. If Lamoriello sticks around there's no way he brings him in.
I want no part of him unless we're trying to tank.
