Johansen and Torts are going to get along great.

Is this the sequel? I feel like we've seen them before but maybe they just missed each other.

Five game winning streak, and Philly starting to sell off.

Just when I thought I was out…

That's been the rumbling about Philadelphia for a while, they don't want to this season's success to influence how they approach rebuilding that team so they were always going to sell.

Not that it really affects the situation currently, but they have TONS of dead/buried cap. They are playing the long game here.

Kinda sounds like a Dubas move to me
Looking at Guentzel, seems like there’s only LAK and VAN as the options out West, so Dubas may be trading him in the conference, which is absurd.

Rutherford is a bit of nut, why he keeps messing with a team on a hot streak, is not too bright.

I think Dubas (shockingly) is backed into a corner on getting a high return for Guentzel.

Still waiting for that Shane Pinto deal IB mentioned.
As far as I’m aware, he never mentioned anything, just retweeted a random tweet from Pinto.

Someone else said that’s IB’s MO, but I’ve seen him in the past explicitly say that something’s cooking.

This Pinto RT seems very tenuous in comparison.

Strange. It feels like they got Torts just as a bridge but he's somehow got them playing competitively. Won't last.

I was just joking about it because IB always does that shit and is never explicit. I'm not holding my breath about anything he says or hints at.

I thought Tortorella was the wrong hire because he'd make that team too good to rebuild well. My guess is that they wanted him for the culture change aspect of things and that has probably worked out pretty well. They're a scrappy group that plays hard and that might translate well for when they're trying to actually compete.

What did he say?
A couple days ago IB retweeted a clip of Pinto scoring against the Isles followed by a tweet he had in like 2013 saying the Rangers suck. As others have said that’s kind of his shtick and moves he’s hinted at have come to fruition in the past, hence the speculation.
