He was almost ok in '18-19, but crashed again. It's been like watching someone writhe around, dying slowly for like 7 years.

I honestly feel that if you play him once a week, he can be decent. It's the workload of 3-4 games a week that magnify his shortcomings even more.

I like Farrance

Him going back probably means he wants to test UFA.

What burial ground did Nashville build their arena on to have all this bad luck with college draft picks

I can understand the appeal of college players who go undrafted or let their rights expire wanting to play in NYC because many of their friends at university will be getting jobs here so they won’t feal alone but I’ve been to Nashville recently and that town is exciting and filled with young people. You would think they wouldn’t have trouble recruiting and retaining players.

Not gonna happen but isn’t Krug the best ufa LD fit?

Again I see 1 year I’d stop gaps and playing kids till the expansion draft

I've always liked Krug a lot, but a large amount of his value is in his prowess as a PPQB and we have no need at all for that. So bidding against teams who will put value into that makes little sense.

Left D is the last thing we should be spending any money on.

Easiest position to fill internally

I’m still kicking the idea of Tony moving to the left I want him on the ice as much as possible. And I want Trouba and fox on the ice as much as possible.

Signing a prospect to an ELC doesn't limit us in any way. Adding another chip to the stack for that LD position on the top pair, hoping one of them will grow into that role, is a good thing. Eventually, the good prospects will push out the rest. Adding Farrance will lead to one of 2 scenarios:

- David Farrance turns out to be better than Miller/Robertson/Reunanen
- David Farrance turns out to be worse Miller/Robertson/Reunanen

If he's better, we are a better team for it. If he's worse, we didn't lose anything. You trade him for a mid-round pick to a team who has a need for him

Someone better would be suited to find this... but how much did ADA/Trouba play together? I'd seriously consider running Lindgren/Fox out followed by ADA/Trouba and let Nils play the third pair when he's ready with whoever else on the left.

yeah, you answered your own question, wrong year for a big ticket D signing,
don't want Lindgren exposed in expansion draft

37:09.

Their results together were great but obviously the sample size is tiny.
