G'night everybody!
DeAngelo is moving past being a 50 point defenseman and into a completely different DeAngelo. One that frankly, Fox will find a hard time attaining. But as they are here and seeing what they are doing, I would presume that you have a better chance of some of the other RD prospects being moved to shore up a weakness than you do him. And seeing how his defense is on his natural side, moving him to a different side should be out of the question.Personally, I think having 3 RHD capable of 50+ points is a luxury a team with this many holes can't afford. Can they squeak it out until Fox needs a new deal? Probably, but I can easily see them striking while the iron is hot. Not to mention, if we want to talk about trajectories, Fox at 21 is outpacing DeAngelo at 21 by a considerable margin. Now, if DeAngelo moves to the left full-time that might change things, but I until I start seeing evidence of that, I'm not going to put it at the top of the available options list.
The two have nothing to do with each other and each brings something completely different to the team. If DeAngelo played defense like Trouba or if Trouba had an offensive game like DeAngelo, then one could start to have an either or debate. But they do not. And both things are needed. The stupidity of all this started when it became a DeAngelo vs Trouba debate.
Agreed although I don’t think Trouba has that anywhere near the level of ADA & Lemieux. Especially when it comes to personality, he is milquetoast & always seems half asleep. I want to see more of the player he was at the end of the Blues game. I’d love for us to go snag someone like Domi too, he’s a skilled center who’s a dick like Lemieux & ADA; and would probably be a good mentor for Kakko with the whole diabetic thing. A team with Lemieux ADA & Domi would become the most hated in the leagueThere are too many sweet guys in our locker room. Mika, Panarin, Strome, Buch, Kakko, Chytil, Fast. They all love puppies and like to share cute memes of rainbows and bunny rabbits.
We need more *******s. That’s what I like about guys like ADA, Trouba and Lemieux. That swagger they walk around with is infectious.
I’m not saying we NEEDZ MOAR TUFFNESS. I just think we need a few more guys that have that kind of personality. I’d like to see Gorton bring in another player or two that has a screensaver of blood and gore than the Care Bears.
Messier was a complete dick, and I think that helped him. So, that’s what I’m saying. We need more dicks.
I wouldn’t at all be surprised if we went 8-2 the last 10 despite having nothing to play for or something annoying like that...

LmaoMax Domi
Pros:
- Skilled center
- Dick
- Diabetes
Cons:
- Takes long shifts
Brock Boeser?Aside from Nylander, who is the equivalent of Trouba at forward that we could see Gorton making a similar deal to acquire?

They have no problem scoring goals and virtually all their prospects are forwards as well. Their defense is a wasteland after Hughes, they’re going to have serious cap issues. And he’s producing at a worse pace than his rookie seasonWhy is Vancouver dealing Boeser?

We’re all assuming some information, as usual, but if there were a need to move a RD, I think most legitimate discussion would be between ADA and Trouba. There is, in effect, some urgency in that question, as Trouba can only be moved before his next contract goes into effect, without having to waive a NTC. Waiting until after the NTC goes into effect not only takes the decision out of our hands, but greatly reduces the return we could get for him. We wouldn’t be free to deal him to some of the teams that would give up the most for him in a return. Once the next contract hits, I don’t think it’ll be a question of which RD gets moved. If we’re moving a RD at that point, it’ll be ADA. Brooks’s report that he’s being shopped right now suggests that mgmt has already come to that conclusion.I guess I don't feel particularly rushed to move a RD.
If they're as good as they're looking to be, we're not going to see their values plummet. We can move them if there's a clear deal that makes sense, and/or if someone like Lundkvist makes a deal apparent (not unlike what Shesterkin is doing right now). If the prices get too expensive, that's fine as well. Because a high price means a high performance, which means we still get value in return.
If they're not as good as they're looking to be, you obviously run the risk of not maximizing the trade value, but you'll also have a much clearer picture of which ones stay and which one goes. And Lundkvist could once again be a factor in how that is approached.
Those scenarios considered, I think I really like what we have and would rather a deal or a player (internally or externally) "force" us to make a move. I don't think we're at point, no matter how things play out, where a move is necessary.

He was also demoted to the 3rd line the past few games btw, they aren’t crazy about his performanceSo what are you parting with to get him?
I’d love that but I think he’s the last player they’d move.I'd keep an eye on Meier in San Jose, their potential need to regroup, and a desire to get some assets flowing in sooner.
That would cost quite a bit I’d think.I'd keep an eye on Meier in San Jose, their potential need to regroup, and a desire to get some assets flowing in sooner.
