I do not see any Brooks report that suggests that DeAngelo is being shoppedBrooks’s report that he’s being shopped right now suggests that mgmt has already come to that conclusion.

I'd be shocked if the Rangers moved Trouba and IMO it would almost certainly be a stupid move on our part. He's our main matchup defenseman and also our main penalty killing defenseman. DeAngelo and Fox (at least not yet) don't really do those things at least not with any regularity.

Not sure if he'd be available but Nik Ehlers would be a nice addition.Aside from Nylander, who is the equivalent of Trouba at forward that we could see Gorton making a similar deal to acquire?
For forwards ok, but kinda tough for defensemen where you need at 4 of your 6 to PK regularly. And personally, I don't value "all situations" players as much as others. I've always felt that teams should be acquiring 4th liners or bottom pairing defenceman who specialize on the penalty kill rather than using your top players.

And as most of the trade deadline talk has been focused on Kreider, Strome, Tony DeAngelo and Alexandar Georgiev, Buchnevich is certainly to be a topic of conversation in the executive suite as Feb. 24 approaches.
ExactlyYes, no question Trouba plays against top players and penalty kills. But, is he actually good at penalty killing. The team ranks 22nd in pk%. Not exactly great. Quinn has never tried DeAngelo or Fox much on the PK. Although they're more "offensive minded" there is the chance that they could prove to be more effective. Regardless, I can't see the team moving on from Trouba so quickly.
That would cost quite a bit I’d think.
If we got a 1st back in a deal for Kreider
Late 1st + one of Kravstov/Lundkvist/Miller is what I think would have to be the offer at least
Probably would have to add another young guy, maybe Howden
DeAngelo is moving past being a 50 point defenseman and into a completely different DeAngelo. One that frankly, Fox will find a hard time attaining. But as they are here and seeing what they are doing, I would presume that you have a better chance of some of the other RD prospects being moved to shore up a weakness than you do him. And seeing how his defense is on his natural side, moving him to a different side should be out of the question.
Well let's get those guys! There are defensemen who get very challenging deployment yet excel, Trouba isn't one of them. There are guys who are great defensively, physical, and great PK'ers that you can find for far under 8 mill per season
timo meier would be a dreammmmI'd keep an eye on Meier in San Jose, their potential need to regroup, and a desire to get some assets flowing in sooner.
Trade Trouba and swing a deal for Josh Manson, easy.Well let's get those guys!

I wouldn’t mind either of them. Edit : didn’t jankowski just resign?Apparently Bennett and Jankowski have both asked for trades out of Calgary. Still like Bennett as a project.

I would say the best bet is to start trying out DeAngelo on the left side of Fox on a more regular basis. A top 4 of Skjei-Trouba DeAngelo-Fox is ideal if it can work.
DeAngelo has the potential to be a perrenial 60-point defenseman, and you shouldn't just be giving those away without exercising all options to keep him. Obviously if you're paying the man, you want him playing top 4 and not 3rd pair, so this is the only option really.
I thought the Rangers considered this when Trouba's NMC doesn't kick in until next year, but someone informed me that has something to do with the rules as opposed to the Rangers being smart. Go figure. Trouba will be around for the long haul, and we should start evaluating him based on defensive performance and not points, because without the top PP time he'll never reach that next level.
Sam Bennett available. He’d be a solid get, Lias+ for Bennett makes sense considering Calgary was interested in Lias
Lemieux-Howden-X
X-Bennett-Fast
Would be a great foundation for a bottom 6. Still think we should go after Alex Tuch for that 3RW spot
