We'll see.

But I would note that there were diehards here that said Trouba to New York would never happen.

You got the price you wanted... unreal.

I thought it would take another 1st round equivalent on top of a better player than Pionk.

This has got to make Shattenkirk and/Kreisler trade bait. Assume Troubadour breaks $7.5M.

That leaves the Rangers with 12 is space.

Trade out Jimmy to Buf for a pick, and your at 14.

Trade out Shattenkirk at 30% retention or Kreider you’re at 18.

That’s more than enough to UFA shopping.

Shattenkirk should be the odd man out on the backend... by virtue of having some value

I wasn't pointing at you but there are a few posters I'm waiting to crawl back here and see what they have to say now.
My instincts have been pretty good lately, and my instincts still think Panarin ends up in Florida. And what this deal tells me is that isn’t about to overpay to get what he wants. And, that’s why, IMO, Panarin will be a Panther.

The dilemma was paying a price that was prohibitive to building the rest of the team. Some of proposed deals were twice as expensive as the final price. No one, not even the biggest optimist, predicted 20 and Pionk.

Wonder if anyone bites on shattenkirk now.

Smith to the jets for a 2nd? I guess anything can happen...

A guy we haven't talked about is Pavelski. He's 34, doesn't turn 35 until July 11th, so his contract would NOT be a 35+ contract. He's likely to get a 3 year deal and just put up 38 goals.

He'll probably re-sign with SJ, but after the deal they just gave EK, they may not be able to afford him. They've got about 11 mil left, assuming the cap is 82 mil, and they only have 7 forwards under contract. Meier is going to get paid. Lebanc is looking at a nice raise too.

If he doesnt stay in SJ, Colorado is going to be all over that.

I think Pavelski would be a perfect intermediate move for this team, but I doubt highly it happens.
