Gauthier in ED
Buchnevich for Robert Thomas + (Thomas is a righty shot at Center as well)
If Gourde is taken and flipped by Seattle
-- Chytil for Gourde w/ retention
Something mediocre for McNabb + Reaves

Laf Zib Kakko
Panarin Thomas Goodrow
Kreider Gourde Kravstov
Barron Rooney Blackwell
Reaves

Lindgren Fox
Miller Trouba
McNabb Lundkvist

Could also work with looking for a more accomplished 2C

Gauthier will probably be selected by Seattle.

Chris Kreider was terrible last year and scored 20 goals in 50 games which is 33 over 82.

Guy scores 33 goals in a down year and multiple people are putting him on the 4th line.
Lightenup MachineMan. G Gallant roles his lines around a bit but gives them pretty equal ice time at ES (CK is seeing PP time too). In my goofy scenario, which like I stated will NEVER HAPPEN, It would be more like lines 1A +1B plus 3A and 3B.
In other NEWS - He should have been traded to Dallas for Robertsson and a first. Should've been shown the same slamming door that JD/JG/DQ later saw... The Inconsistent Poolboy Bum. But we do not live in a sheltered shoulda woulda coulda reality. Happy now? ;)

I know people bring this up regularly but what the f*** is up with this website refreshing while I’m mid post? It happens constantly. Is this a “feature” that goes away if I become a sponsor?

I mean I’ve never had it as a sponsor but can’t recall experiencing it when I wasn’t either

Yeah, extremely annoying. Not sure it has anything to do with being a sponsor though, it’s the ads that reload and you still have adds as a sponsor. I will try becoming a sponsor and see if it changes.

BTW, I only have it on my Iphone, doesn’t matter if it’s safari or chrome. Never computer.

Honestly the fact we didn’t offer, what do we have overall I should know the 16th pick for gourde to come play with his buddy Goodrow before he was exposed to Seattle TERRIFIES me into thinking we are all in on Eichel right now.

that was just too easy a move to make to pass it up. We’ve got bigger plans for that pick for sure

It makes the mobile version impossible to use, for me.

The Kreider "hate, 4th line, trade him, etc..." begins and ends with him scoring 1 in 15 and then 10 in 11. He's streaky and always has been. It is what it is.
Your assessment is spot on about his goal scoring. People love to reference the scoresheet to validate their opinions, even if it doesn’t entirely make sense.

What they ignore is that his game is nearly irreplaceable and removing him from the lineup would shine an even brighter light on how soft the rest of our forward group is. I’m not on the “need more tuffnez” train, but players who have his combo of size, speed, and skill to pair with a physical style are a rare commodity in the game. And it’s players like that who [should] show their true worth come game 83 of the season.

He’s also one of the best net front players in the league and no one else in the lineup can replace him there on the pp.

Looking at Carolina and the moves Francis did there, he is obviously a big believer in building a strong blue line and he likes bigger Ds that can move the puck. Seth Jones contract situation isn’t optimal but if we can dangle him in front of Francis, Ron should have a hard time refusing both giving up Gourde and retaining on him.
Didn't Ron Francis make absolutely zero trades as the GM of Carolina?

Trying to remember.

When he shows up this is all true. The scoring inconsistently is known and accepted. He is invisible for long stretches and that is the issue. No one minces words when they take issue with Kreider so I don't know why people continually misconstrue the narrative.

Hopefully Kreider makes an impact in games even when he hits a cold spell. It will do wonders for the overall team game.

Regarding Strome vs. Danault. If we give Danault 5,5 a year and trade Strome for futures the cap should'nt be a problem. What we need offensively from Danaualt is to equal Strome's ES production, and in MTL Danault did that with way lesser team-mates then Panarin.

All seson long many here would love to get a LH shot in Stromes position on the PP, and we have many young players with good potential for PP skills, but we have not had the spot for them on PP1.

Replacing Strome with Danault should give us an upgrade in PK and ES defence for the Panarin line, and with hopefully minor downgrade on PP1 is Chytil/Kakko/Lafreniere/Kravtsov taking Stromes spot there. THe team should be more balanced and well-rounded.

Getting a young top-6 ready C for Buch might not be possible, but if we get Danault we are okay with getting a younger prospect
as the center-piece for Buch, say a Holloway or Turcotte (no idea if I'm far off on the value) and give that prospect time in the AHL if needed.

Everything comes down to Danault's contract demands if it would be a good signing or not.

Could see something like these lines in the upcomming season:

Lafreniere - Mika - Kakko
Panarin - Danault - Goodrowe
Kreider - Chytil - Kravtsov
Barron - Rooney - Blackwell/Gauthier/UFA vet

I feel like Robert Thomas would be another Mika Zibanejad type trade.

Buch + 7th
for
Thomas + 2nd ( or 1st depending on contract )

Fox is 23, Kakko is 20, and Lafreniere is 19. We're gonna have a window with these players where they might be the only three players still on the team that are on the team now. Trying to budget for that era is literally pointless.

Meanwhile, we could have a shorter window *now* if we improve *now.* Money spent now is not gonna be on the books when those three players are 29, 26, and 25.

We did the hard part. It's over.

Thank you Adam Fox and thank you ping pong balls.
Good point. We’re going to have a mini window that makes the playoffs at least then jettison Mika, Krieds, Trouba for the real window in a few years.

I like how I got a good amount of pushback when I first suggested we get Gourde a month ago, and no we have all of these crazy proposals trading a ton of assets to Tampa for him

I mean, isn't it also possible that Tampa could have something worked out on the side with SEA or someone else to keep Gourde since they realize how valuable he is to their team? Given how they use him, he's easily over-performing relative to his cap hit. Plus, there's that weird smoke out there from Frank Seravalli suggesting that Tampa might have some big move planned.

As for Eichel, yeah, we've beaten this one to death. I'm not interested in gutting what we've built to bring him in with so much uncertainty about his health. I know Friedman reported that he's skating, but something just seems off with how shady BUF has been with his medical records. Plus, the idea that Vince threw out there of trying to keep Eichel *AND* Zibanejad is madness when you factor in the flat cap.

I wouldn’t hate a massively lopsided return for buch either.
It isn’t. Buch is in his prime, close to PPG while playing a two-way game. He’s the best player in the trade by far. Blues have had Thomas and Dunn on the market for months. 17 in what’s thought to not be a deep first round.

Buch has 1 year left until he hits UFA.

It’s a massive overpayment.

I like it but Chytil for Gourde seems too aggressive. Rather use Strome ( dont see him in this scenario)

I'm all on the Thomas bandwagon. Perfect middle6 center. Could bud into something special, especially with Panarin. Re-ignite something similar to that that Kane-Panarin magic...

Call me crazy, and I agree that value wise its an overpayment, but I am still not sure if that would be the right move for the current Rangers. Is Dunn the LD the team needs, or do they need a veteran D with some grit? Is Thomas the center they need, or is he bad at faceoffs and sort of redundant to Chytil?

If Buch goes I'd much prefer WE are the team with the multi-player package for one piece from somwhere else that fits the team and the plan. Not just trade Buch in a value move that brings us pieces that dont truly fit.

Sounds more like user or browser error tbh. The mobile version of the site can be buggy. Has nothing to do with being a sponsor.

Stone went for a top prospect, a throw in and a 2nd rounder. Buch is not going for that much. Buch for Thomas would be fair base.. maybe with some picks to offset the value
