Speculation: Roster Building Thread XIII

Kreider - Zibanejad-Kravtsov
Lafreniere -New Center(Eichel?)-Kakko
Panarin-Goodrow-Coleman

I see Buch Strome & Chytil being moved.
 
Smoke and fire with Strome and Buch rumors and maybe shipping Chytil to land Eichel:

Laff Eichel Hyman
Panarin zib Kakko
Kreider Goodrow Kravtsov
Barron Rooney Blackwell

It's nothing against him per se, just more about the term/money he'll be getting. Those assets should be focused elsewhere, like another Center. Not a defensive minded LHD who you want to ideally play 3rd pairing 5 on 5 and kill penalties.

I still think McNabb is the guy who fills that role. Maybe Giordano depending on what Seattle wants for him. Carson Soucy too.

Oleksiak is top tier? Since when? He is 2nd pair dman trending towards 3rd pair as he ages here. He would have been the perfect option.

Point is moot though.

We already have 10 top-9 forwards without Coleman.

I mean, we could, but if you're uprooting the roster that much you could do anything. Call bernmeister.

In this years UFA Dman class, yeah he is.

You make the point. Why pay UFA prices for a guy who's trending to be a 3rd pairing guy?

Again I don’t know how Tampa let gourde get on that list for free instead of trading him. Just don’t get it. They’re going to lose their entire second line really when u go by usage. This was a boneheaded move by brisbois

And Coleman is a no. Kravtsov can play LW on that third line he’s very responsible defensively works hard skates hard adds offense he’s gotta be in the top 9 if/when kreider moves to the right side of the top line

The point has been noted many times but at this point its far over kill. Aside from dropping him to the 4th line as some suggest there is also posts that have him not on PP even though he is truly our only net presence on the PP. During a time where its fun to speculate with everything happening these anti-Kreider posts have become boring and stupid. If this is all posters want to talk about then they really have no clue as to what is really important this week and next.

Also for all the talk on McNabb...

Isn't the rub on him that he's good against the rush and solid in his own end but woefully deficient at pushing pucks up ice?

With how we're structured on the back end right now, I'd like someone to be at least adequate at moving the puck.

Pair him with Lundkvist, let him move the puck.
 
Smart move by Seattle to sign both Oleksiak and Larsson. Edmonton and Dallas' expansion lists sucked and those will be useful players on reasonable length deals. They're the type of guys as well who could be a steady presence opposite say a young offensive blue-liner as well which is probably the type of players they will be selecting in the Draft early.

If you sign somebody's UFA, that counts as using the pick from that team right?
