He sucks? Please go further. Again, provide data not feelings.

You do realize he literally made the team a year earlier than expected.

He most definitely doesn't suck. You want another situation like Norstrom back in the day, tell this fanbase you'll sign up for it.

you can look up his analytics yourself, they're horrific.

If Edmonton offers you dylan holloway and their 2023 2nd for kandre do you do it? I think you do and then sign gostisbehere.
What position do you think holloway plays?
Also holloway puts up less offense than kandre, so not only do we lose miller, we lost a chunk of offense.

Gostisbehere replaces kandre and thats a net positive. Holloway is versatile.

Laff-mika-kakko
Panarin-chytil-holloway
Kreider-trocheck-vesey
Cuylle-bjugstad-motte

Lindgren-fox
Gostisbehere-trouba
Robertson-schneider
Harpur

Id have othmann do a year in hartford then replace vesey with othmann in 2024-2025 season and keep vesey at 13th forward

The problem is that some people here think coaches have zero impact on games.

This playoffs should more than put that to rest as we see more systems coaches running the table than ever.

I mean Carolina has no business whatsoever advancing as far as they have with the injuries and cruddy goaltenders they have. That is 100% on Rod and his coaching.

Coaching is becoming more important then ever in the NHL… and the Gallants of the world will all be out of the league unless they adapt.

Hopefully Drury realizes this. But i have little faith in him as GM.
While I don't know what people think about coaching, I do think a lot of people are vilifying Gallant. He system does work and has worked for decades, if you have a team that can do it. I'm not sure if he felt like he had that team after the deadline. Doing the same thing over and over again in hockey is not insanity, it's actually a strategy. And it works for him, and it's worked for many many others over the last century. If you don't have the supporting cast and a passionate group of younger players (REALLY pushing for a bigger job--Chytil and maybe Miller were sort of in that category), it's not going to work> and look, whatever advanced stats there are proving The Kids had more of an impact within the veterans, you see where the chances are coming from, and it's not them pretty often. I know there are people who would rather see Kakko or Lafreniere in the final minute of a game seven, down by one. If you know they're probably not going to score, you go with the guy gives you the best chance. Gallant did not mishandle the youth anymore than Quinn did. This is New York, that's the ultimate explanation for everything.

In the case of Drury,

How is it a net positive?

You realize that K'Andre out produced him this year with almost no PP time right?

He really overall had a rough year in his own end. But you cant teach 6’5 220 and skating ability like he has.

I probably am underselling his value.
I am with you. I thought he was trying to start moving before he had the puck secured. To me he was hurrying up way too much instead of making the smart decisions. I think he will be fine.

Im not as low on him as others. But I have a feeling one of KAM or lindgren gets moved this summer. Feels like theres going to be some roster changes
KAM is easily... and I mean EASILY, the 2nd best defenseman on the team. His highs are ridiculous. He struggled down the stretch but he's a big reason why we started winning games in the regular season.

He's 23. He's a stud. He needs to be a Ranger.

Hopefully our next coaching staff isn't as braindead as the last one.... KAM should be stapled on PP2.

I'd really love to move Trouba this offseason. He's slowed down considerably.... That's not a good sign... Even the years prior, he was slow but not as slow. Would Yzerman give us Islanders 1st for him? Would Trouba waive?

He's not good offensively. He's not a good puck mover. He's not good defensively. Only aspect that he excels at is open ice hits... and I appreciate that... but he makes $8M.

I'd be floored if Trouba, a year after being named captain to fill a 4 year vacancy, was moved.

Even if it's the right decision to move him, they have hitched their wagon to him.

I think people forget he was a converted forward and has only been playing the position for 6-7 years. He's frustrating at times but the tools are there to be one of the best in the league

You're probably right but I would not let that stop me for doing what's best for the team.

Hopefully he redeems himself with a better system and 'full health'. He's a guy that doesn't get much flack for being that slow... Would it kill him to work on his foot speed and explosiveness?

Way too much of this team is lazy and country club soft. This isn't the 60s or 70s... you need to train.

Nope. Sorry just not interest in trading our 1st overall pick from 3 years ago.

Lets see how he is after a full 3 month offseason instead of him rushing to train for 5 weeks before training camp like last season.
This is a missed opportunity to point out how good Laf's numbers are at "even strength" and set off a sh*t storm
