This roster doesn’t even fit with Gallant. You think these old 65 year olds are gonna scream them into modernization?

this team isn’t built for where this league is going. And none of those names will remotely help. Other than make people feel like we’re tough.

It's not about what the deserve, it's about what is best for the organization. The priority should be about doing what they can to rehabilitate their games in top 6/PP roles. If we take a step back next year for future gains, I'm all for it. Giving up on 21-22 year old's for anything less than a massive overpayment would be a panic move.

Hey I call it like I see it. The vets deserved a chance to do it their way, especially coming off the ECF last year. They failed, and it's time for a change in mindset.

No one is untouchable but tell me what you're trading Lafreniere or Kakko for before you skewer those of us who are hesitant to do it. I'm eager to listen because the team needs a change.

When we have double the amount of better young players?

Shackling ourselves to aging veterans is failure. We know how this ends.

At least the kids still have some semblance of upside. We know the ending with these veterans.

Unknown is better than known when known is failure.

My objection is that they're not even given a chance to be the guy. It's never been asked of them, with all kinds of roadblocks to being on the top PP or the top line.

Anyone can say until they are blue in the face that they haven't earned it, and there is credence to that, but did every other #1 or #2 pick earn it or did they get put into spots because there was no other clear cut choice?

Did Hughes earn a top line role or did he just get put there partially through year 1 because the Devils were terrible? Did Stutzle earn it? He looked awful year 1, but learned from it.

You have to eventually sink or swim with them. No better time then to find out this upcoming season.

I get where you are coming from and agree to an extent, but I think this team can win with Z and Kreider. They bring something to the table, whether it's offense or defense, and they do it in big games with reasonable contracts. Panarin is the guy that brings nothing but offense, and only in meaningless games and is paid like McDavid.
