I still wonder if the Rangers trade-up target isn't Soderstrom.

I would hope that if they are trying to get into top-1o, then it is not. Not out of realm of possibility, but much much better players will be available. IF they manage to trade in.

Would anyone be more interested in a player like Volkov with Callahan in lieu of the pick? Perhaps TB feels they need their 1st this year more than a player who is close to NHL ready just based on their current depth at the NHL level and the more likely need a few years down the road for another young player to be ready.

I like Seider alot with the 2nd pick of the first round. Rangers don't have that type of prospect, nor have they had that type of prospect in the system since maybe Tomas Kloucek.

the attitude was refreshing. fights, physical play, finishing checks and post whistle scrums.

seems to me this team was finding its identity.

lets add some more of that to the bottom 6 and the 3rd pair D.

100% agree. The team is building a nice core of skilled players. Time to sprinkle in some guys who bring a different element but can still play

You’re telling me that group can’t do what the islanders or bluejackets did. Or be where stl or Dallas or Winnipeg are? Carolina?

This would be a playoff team. No doubt in my mind if we keep kreider sign Panarin and go move Shattenkirk and replace with a more two way top righty dman.

In this draft, I don't like it. Moving from a late 2nd to a late 1st is not enough for taking Callahan. Maybe if they threw in their 3rd as well, I'd do it. But, I like the idea of Volkov, as brought up by another poster, or Raddysh.

31 goes to the Cup winner. 30 goes to the SCF loser. 29 and 28 go to the Conference Final losers in order of season ending standings. Next picks down go to the regular season division winners who didn't make the conference finals in order of season ending standings.

The Lightning did not make the ECF and had the most points among regular season division winners, giving them the lowest pick outside of teams that made the conference finals: 27OA.
