I agree to an extent, but I’d leave the first line alone. I think the shakeup required is really just to break up Panarin and Strome by moving Strome out of the top 6.
I'd love Strome to be moved to RW and off the 2nd line. I just find it unlikely with Gallant.

Ideally, he'd be with Chytil and someone like Vatrano, a pure offense only line that doesn't really see ice time, late-game, trying to hold a lead.

Kreider Zibs Laffy
Panarin Copp Kakko
Vatrano Chytil Strome
Motte Goodrow Rooney/Hunt/Brodz/Reaves

I just really want them to try something different. Whether its adjustments to the 'system' or a roster shakeup... something more than rotating Goodrow, Hunt and Laffy at the 2 wing spots in the top6

It blows my mind that such a good coach can watch that line all season and not see a problem. I’ve never been so passionate about seeing a duo broken apart. It’s such an obvious thing to do, and the fury of the fan base grows daily while we wait for it to finally happen.

Id assume his agent and the nhlpa are telling him not to accept the move.
There were multiple balls dropped on this and Dadanov did nothing wrong.
Theres no leverage any team has to get him to accept the deal as they cant touch his contract.
I don't disagree, but I have to believe there will now be a trade to the coyotes to get this done so Vegas will be okay. It's going to cost them more but they will probably bite the bullet

Too bad the Rangers didn't have cap flexibility next season like they did this season. I can almost guarantee that Arizona is on his NTC list.

If no team will take Dadonov, they'll have to trade Smith. Smith has no trade protection.

If Vegas is willing to give up a 1st to get rid of him, we could take him and then trade him at the beginning of next pre-season for whatever (let's say a 7th or future considerations) while the cap is 10% higher, no?

Not sure the Rangers would want to strap themselves like that when Kakko is an RFA. Too much of a risk.

I still remember the NHL cancelling the Kovalchuk deal and all the bullshit that entailed.

Vegas being squarely in the playoffs, and saying oh no Martinez and Stone are really injured, and they will both need to be out until the playoffs to them shitting the bed, and needing to bring them back to try and get the 8 seed is hilarious.

What’s the buyout on Dadonov? I’ll take a 1st 2023 + Brisson to help them out.

aside from the fact that they would never pay that much to get rid of him. the problem for us is that he has another year at 5 mil on his contract. so we would have to turn around and pay an asset to get someone to take the contract off our hands over the summer

Thinking about roster construction, team chemistry - I was always anti-Eichel. Glad it never came to fruition, although it did look destined to. Very glad we evaded Domi, Rakell, Radulov, and others this past week. I’m more confident than ever that the mousey looking teenage cherry picker Ryan Strome has an expiration date…

I am liking most of the moves we’ve made - and all the moves we did not make.

Jeff Marek is suggesting this could happen. Trade Dadanov somewhere and allow him to play as a special concession.
I think the other teams in the league want no part in allowing that.
Every single goal he scores and every game he plays would need an asterisk.

The CBA has very specific rules. The NHLPA shouldn't just let them move this rule.

Seravelli has said the cost is a 1st+

If you think anyone in this league is going to be doing that team any favors right now I suggest you rethink that.

It's an outdated rule that almost never comes into play which is why it likely hasn't been revised. Maybe it will be now that is may come up. I'd think the NHLPA would have a very large issue with a player not being allowed to play in the regular season solely because he got traded after the regular trade deadline.
