I did correct myself that of course it's not an entire country's population. How about you get off your high horse?

You said a "decent amount of Canadians" have "gone after uninvolved people."

Putting aside the still incredibly broad brush you are using to paint some Canadians, what do you mean by "going after"?

Do you mean booing the US national anthem? If a decent amount of Canadians disliked Americans, there were thousands of opportunities to express that dislike before the Four Nations. There is zero debate that the small minority in the crowd that booed was directed at recent developments and the person behind those.

If you mean things said on HF boards, again, you should stay off the internet if those are going to bother you.

Not going to stay off the Internet, just away from you.

Yeah I just figured with so little space, Canada’s top end talent would come out on top. And although they did, it wasn’t in the way I expected. The US has no answer to MacKinnon and McDavid. And they are unlikely to have that coming soon either given Bedard Cellibrini and Mckenna emerging.

Honestly with all the top Canada players that start with the letter M lately my money is on McKenna.

McDavid, MacKinnon, Marner, Makar...

Don’t troll with marner among those 4

Marner won the game vs Sweden in ot and he set up Bennett on the 2-2 goal and he set up McDavid for the winner. He had a fantastic tournament, like it or not but he's one of the premier passers/set up men in the world.

Sorry, but you listed the top 3 players in the world + marner. Marner is an elite player, but he doesn’t crack the top 10 in league.

You can argue whatever you want to argue, but the fact remains that Marner is a top 6 forward for Canada and one of the most talented forwards the country has. He absolutely belongs with the rest of those M's that's why he's on Canada's best possible team and why he played a huge role in the win with 2 assists.

Alright. Well imma toss Morrissey and Marchand to that list too. Great Canadian players.

There is no logic to your comments, Marner is clearly a top 6 forward for the country and he clearly played like one this tournament with 1 G, 2A in 4 games, he is interchangeable on the 1st or 2nd line for Canada, thus he is very much in the same sentence as Canada's other young talents like McDavid, MacKinnon and Makar when it comes to star players for Canada. I mean he's a 100 point player in the NHL...

I'm sensing some weird Leafs hater vibes here for this logic lmao.

TIL a 100 point calibre NHL player who is 27 years old isn't a star player for Canada, ok bud.

What surprised me (pleasantly) was how much play it got south of the border.

It was a legitmate mainstream talking point.

I was surprised by the number of people who actually believed this tournament would be passionless go-through-the motions meaningless hockey when the reality of international play going back to the ‘72 series and through the various Canada Cups and World Cups was just the opposite. I have to believe they were mostly younger fans (and maybe mostly American fans) who didn’t experience those events.
