Trade futures to Ottawa for Connor Brown.

Really balances the team well. Can try some other combinations as well, Brown can certainly play with any of the Rangers lines. Don’t think there is going to be that center trade out there that everyone is hoping for so take advantage of one of the obvious selling teams and get an all situations better RW signed for next year at a very small amount. If you can find a defense first bottom six center, go for it but this is a move that makes the team a lot better.

Kane is far from the first NHL player that gambles or has gambled . I'm sure there are lots of addicts . They had the money and many still crave the rush . I hate seeing Gretzky advertising for these gambling organizations...I have to wonder why ? Does he need the money ? It definitely takes from his image . I was wondering if he advertised for them previously when his Dad was still living ?
Gretzky wife was involved with a mobbed up gambling ring in the late 90's. It was a big story that sort of just went away. Rick Tocchet was involved as well.
Gretzky, wife address gambling ring allegations

I like this idea quite a bit.

Gambled 30 mil in debt probably pushes him to the top.

I still hope he can find a way onto this team as a Dwight King type role player for the next 3-5 years. It's hard because not many spots to fill but he looks faster which can help.

Good teams need ELC and cheap options in the bottom six.

I hope so too but I doubt it. He is improving in the AHL although he defensively has to get a little quicker and score a bit more and be more physical consistently

Jones or somebody like that for Chychrun/Lindholm is a "go for it" move and I'm far from convinced that we have a "go for it" team.

I would much rather spend a 3rd/4th round pick on a vet bottom pair D and see where we land.

Especially this year. The Cup winner this year might depend entirely on who wins the Russian roulette Royal Rumble bingo dartboard covid lottery extravaganza. I would be hesitant to invest assets into this run even with the best roster.

The virus goes in waves so we don't know what the situation will be this spring but there's every chance a team or two wins multiple rounds via well-placed positive tests, and there's little chance the NHL adjusts protocol for the timr being as other league have with Canada being such a factor.

100%

With depleted rosters, this season can end up being a crapshoot.

Depth is going to be very important this year, as we've seen. And it's good to have guys overcook in Hartford. If this was some of the dark days, a guy like Gettinger would've been on the roster for some time. Now, having had a ton of time in Hartford, his game looks a bit more developed.

Don't be timid, after all Fortune favors the brave. The Rangers are already deeper than the vast majority of teams, adding to that depth will make the team stronger for the post-season. The cap space opportunity to add will not come back for a long time.

Also, COVID will continue to disrupt the seasons ahead. The hysteria over the next wave/variant of the corona virus will return full force next November/December.

He would be a good add.
I would mind moving LaF up if he’s more comfortable and dropping chytil down.
That or try Goodrow-Barron-Brown as well.
Can also see if brown meshes with Panarin/Strome duo. He’s not anemic offensively.
Only a 1.7 mill cap hit.
Brown and Lehkonen would be my 2 primary targets.
Then Boyd/Jarnkrok/Donskoi in that order.
A trade like that creates options.... what OTT would want as a return, that’s the 64 thousand dollar question
