Lindgren signed a 3X3 extension. What has KAM done to get a bigger contract? I’m not worried about his next deal. Even if it’s the same as Lindgren’s.
This.
If KAM was in line to get a huge deal, it’s a different story. To me, he’s gotten better every year straight out of college.
He’s not breaking the bank on his next deal. He still has significant growth to do.. if your dealing him, it better be for the right guy or not at all

I’m not sure that it’s all fluff. Get the right return and Miller could be moved. Like the Million Dollar Man used to say, everyone has their price.

What if Buffalo offered Dylan Cozens?

But why move Miller? What is wrong with him?

They can bridge him after next season.

He made two turnovers the last two games as a young defender and half the people on Facebook and IG see Schneider is called up and are like "he's here to replace Miller. Put Miller in the stands."

It's ok for young players to not be perfect. It's ok for the Rangers to have players stay in their organization for their full RFA years +.

I honestly don't remember the fans base being this brain dead when I was a kid in 90s and even after the 2004-05 lockout.

Sorry if I missed that, but who are you proposing with take Miller's place on d? That very much seems like trying to fill one problem by opening up another. Neither Nils or Schneider is moving over to the left side and do you really want trouba and nemeth as a 2nd pair? I'm assuming I miss something so I apologize ahead of time

He’s not breaking the bank is the important statement here. We’re not talking about a player who has torn shit up like Fox did early in his career. He doesn’t possess the offensive skills Adam has. He’s very much a 3x3 bridge guy like Lindgren, but with a higher ceiling.

I’d trade literally, anyone if it improved us. I don’t see a viable situation where moving KAM accomplishes that.

The same simpleton’s entertaining the idea of moving KAM are also the same clowns whining about Nemeth as our 6/7 D.

Guess what happens if you move KAM? You get more f***ing NEMETH.

NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Yup, unless they let Hajek become a full timer and live with his mistakes, or go bonkers for Chychrun.

Matthew Robertson is a good prospect but he is a slow cooker. There are no guarantees he will be ready by next year, as good as Miller is even now, or that he is a steal. We heard first round talent but I'm going full Bill Parcells, he is what his record said he was and he was a second round pick. Sometimes a second round pick is a second round pick because 32 teams have decided that.

Chychrun is like when the Rangers got Yandle in 2015, redundant and not what is needed. There is a certain element to having roster stability and continuity. This is not the days of Phil Esposito as GM and make trades for the sake of making trades.

Miller/Trouba and Lindgren/Fox are good pairs and have chemistry. Subtracting one and adding Chychrun does not equal the same level of success or a better result. We saw what Fox looked like with Hajek and Nemeth.

All this Miller nonsense because he had two bad turnovers stems from frustrated Rangers fans looking to complain due to cabin fever (dealing with like 10 degrees weather in the Northeast, omicron impact) or intimacy issues, There, I said it and called out the fan base.

Miller is fine. I wish he played with more of a mean streak/physical.
The only way I would move him or any of our D is for a 1st line center.

Who won that trade? Both guys have underwhelmed relative to expectations, no?

The situation is pretty similar though. Nash traded a young D with worlds of potential because they had a surplus, and acquired a similar aged player in a position of need, leading to a Cup Final appearance the next season. I'm sure they don't regret it despite getting that "worse" player
I'm not a big Jones guy, but Columbus won that trade.

There have been times Miller looks like he belongs in Hartford and other times he looks like a 6"5 McD. Is he prone to mental mistakes? Sure, so is Trouba but the both of them have been consistently solid more times than not.

Our problem is unless Fox is out there to carry the puck out or be a magician our forwards aren't supporting our D enough. If your D can't carry the puck then you need close support. Games like the LA game where everyone starts cheating up leaves huge gaps so when a turnover happens it's a gong show.

You can tell when this team is mentally or physically tired because old habits become very obvious. No support, dumping in the puck with no support, force feeding cross seam passes on the PP, etc.

I'm not sure how people are missing this - but it seems very obvious that if the Rangers consider trading Miller, it's to directly fill the 2C hole - the largest on the team, with few prospects to make up for it..

The rationale ties directly to having Jones/Robertson as potential back fill. Obviously Miller is only going to go if the Rangers get a similar young player from a team that has a stacked center cupboard.

The Rangers are not giving Miller away because of one bad game.. get a grip here.

Just to shift the topics a bit, another young player that would be a great target for us is Adam Beckman from Minnesota. He’s scoring at a great rate in the AHL playing in a depth role, and he has a fantastic shot. He’s slotted on the wing for now, but he played a ton of center in juniors with Spokane and was the leading scorer in the WHL in his D+1 year.

Not sure exactly what what MIN would want, but I’d pay a fair amount considering he’s probably one of the more underrated prospects around the league.

Really not a fan of the way the NHL does scheduling these days. Hate playing every WC team 2x and having so few division games. Haven't even played Pittsburgh yet. Haven't played the Isles/Devils/Pens/Flyers since 12/1.

I think the NHL should increase the schedule by 1 game, every team plays every other team in the league outside their division twice, home and away. Then, after those first 48 games, the next 35 are all in your division leading into the playoffs. Rivalries would come back and, honestly, nothing is worse then watching 2 teams on different coasts play in March. This would make the push to the playoff exciting and every year you play in your division 5 games each, so there is like a "mini playoffs" going on during the season to try and "win" the series.

The old home and home b2b schedules were the best. It fostered great rivalries and animosity. The regular season was a ton more entertaining back then.

Schedule is tricky, they won’t have a practice until after the Philly game on Saturday.

Do they start Igor without giving him a practice?

There nothing terribly wrong with Miller. He is about where you would expect him to be. Inconsistent young player.

I’m not actively shopping him but I am not redlining him for a possible deal. I’d put Kakko in the same boat.

Make me an offer.
