After bombing on Pool Party the Oilers are in no position to move their likely top 10 #1 to rid themselves of Lucic.

If they move it, would be for a top pair Dman or Top 6 winger.

I’m not sure. I think they’d consider trying to remedy their cap situation for long term health. That would allow them to partake in UFA

They would have moved up for either tkachuk or Hughes. Both were gone by the range the rangers could have realistically moved up into, at that Point, it’s exactly as you said

There hasn’t been any report of them wanting/trying to move up at all last year that I’m aware of

I don’t watch the Oilers so I don’t have a true opinion on Pulujärvi but I think it’s fair to say between “stat watching” and anecdotal evidence at the very least it’s an even swap. No clue why we would have to add there other than saying “Pulujärvi has a higher ceiling” or some other narrative.

It would be very poor asset management imo. If an item is worth $2.99 idk why we would want to pay $3.99 for it. Makes no sense to me.

I don't think there's any appreciable difference to dealing him at the TDL compared to at the draft. Maybe an extra B level prospect or a 3rd or something. Not enough to inspire such fevered keystrokes.

I think this far removed from their drafts, not sure if the draft position matters as much. Would or really should be more about recent production at both the NHL and AHL levels.

No. I'd rather use the 28 + 37 to get a 12-15 pick if at all possible.

They've proven about the same but Puljujarvi plays more minutes with better line mates and is having major surgery.

It cost the Rangers I believe the 45 to move up 4 spots from #26 or #27. Think it will cost more than that.

Have a friend within the Peg Org. He does not think they will be able to resign Trouba long term and that they will deal him in the offseason. He knows the Rangers have big interest here. There will of course be other suitors, but we got a lot of ammo to pull this off. I am thinking there is a good chance this comes to fruition. I got no indication as to what he might fetch, but he thought it would be completed before the start of next season to avoid locker room distractions. Asking what Trouba want$, he just replied “a lot, too rich for Chevy”.
