I haven't calculated the cap or anything, but it should be rather impossible to keep Strome, short deal long deal whatever, we shouldn't have the cap space.

It'll be a bullet to bite economically, but we'll lose Strome to UFA.

Vince had his podcast drop this morning. Sounds like the Rangers want to get Strome in the $5-5.5M range on a deal. Strome also really wants to stay.

4 years, 22 million. You get a 2C for the next 2-3 years and can explore the market after that. Cap going up would change a lot of that, hopefully the rest of what the players owe is paid up quicker than expected and a contract like this wouldn't hurt the team.

You have to do this at 4/22mil.....then if Filip flops or doesn't progress..... package with Nils etc for a stud C. Move Ryan to wing.

Not a recipe for success. We have way too many passengers offensively to go far in the playoffs. All teams have to do is shut down the Panarin line 5 on 5 and we're finished.

Are we watching the same player? He may not be putting up points regularly but I'd say he has been very effective on the boards and creating havoc in the offensive zone.

That line isn't producing though, so, something may have to change there.

We should just target Hertl instead of bringing back Strome. I like Strome but Hertl brings so much more to the table

Problem is Hertl is likely even less affordable and again will require moving out Kreider or Trouba.

It's very possible that by the playoffs Lundkvist is not ever the guy who gets breaks on that third pair.

It would have to be a "stud center," who is on an ELC or it's not affordable.

You give Strome $5.5m and you've got not much over $3m for Kakko and you have to clear Nemeth and Chytil to do kinda anything else. Certainly not pay another center big money.

Even bridging Laf and Kakko creates cap problems if you give Strome $5.5m.

I like how everyone says "just bridge the kids," as if it's free money.

Chytil just got $2.5m on a bridge and he does nothing. Kakko is getting more than that. Maybe a lot more depending on how he finishes the season.
