i can see kreider going but i dont think they will trade zbad.....maybe alot of people forget hes 25???? even when the time comes to compete for a cup again in 2-3 years he will still be young and be a leader on this team

kreider on the other hand is completely different, if your picking between the two to trade hes the one

...and then he will be pending UFA and will have to make a decision on whether to keep and pay him, or trade him. A vicious cycle.

Preaching to the choir.

Zibanejad’s value will never be higher than right now. That’s a summer time move. He has 3 years remaining on his contract at a very cheap number. Zibanejad is having a career season.

I like Kreider very much. The Rangers should look at moving him. He can walk in 16 months for free.

I put Zibanejad in a different realm of value than Kreider.

What some are thinking Kreider is worth is what I actually think they could get back for Zbad, maybe even a little more.

Pretty certain all our trade pieces will be in uniform and playing until they are traded. As obvious as it is, the team wants to keep our guys completely focused on playing .500 hockey and holding guys out would not further that cause and would impact the on-ice play, a big nono for Quinn. People are setting themselves up for some real vitriol when they see everyone dressed and playing game after game...(unless a deal is done and all but signed).

We held guys out last year. I don't see any reason why we wouldn't do the same this year. It sounds like things are getting close.

Players are paid to play, people buy tickets expecting a certain thing, I get it from the 20000 ft. view of sit everyone but I feel like people don't take into account the 20 ft. view.

Hockey is a business.

Quinn seems much more focused on the locker room aura and guys giving their all every shift on the ice than AV was. This would lead to the 'all hands on deck' mentality and keeping your best guys active and playing, irrespective of management decisions. I can see Quinn saying that trade crap doesn't belong in the locker room so let's make believe it's not happening from a man power stand point, even though its silly to assume it can be kept completely separate.

They got two quality prospects and a 1st. That's a good return even without the conditional pick.

Pending UFA's are not going to get you a teams very best, blue chip prospect.

I think you're expectations should be tapered some.

I have no expectations which is why I want to keep Hayes. Looking back on all the prospects traded in previous deadline deals and the only one that proved to be worth a damn is Filip Forsberg

You can't be serious right now.

I just don't want us to purposely bottom out like Edmonton and Buffalo and put that stench on the franchise that is almost impossible to get off in return for prospects who more likely than not won't have any impact on the franchise moving forward.

They aren't but it's not like those teams are good just because of them.
They have been taken to the next level because of them.

Adding Point and Kucherov to this team would make a world of a difference. That's the difference between the good and the average.

Correct but are those teams as good without the 4 players I mentioned? It's not that this team needs to just tank draft high and instant cups but that's a part of it. They need a mixture of high draft picks, getting good picks late and good trade/fa signings
