Yeah with their winning the lottery like 50% of the time they were eligible. Cursed as it gets. Including moving up to 4th when they were almost in the playoffs where the presumptive 90% of the season #1 overall pick Larsson fell to them. They went to the finals the very next season. Plus they’re signing the #1 free agent multiple years in a row in Hamilton and Meier (though they traded a bit to get him). Or getting an actual franchise player first overall (twice) instead of a project like Slaf. I will take their curse over ours.
A first overall can only help you if he’s healthy.

The only teams better than Montreal the last two months have been the league's top teams.

Since early-mid November, the Habs have a better record than Detroit, Columbus, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, basically all the teams we're battling with for a WC spot.

I don't expect us to keep playing at a such a high level, but the other teams surrounding us are just as likely to sink. It'll be a wild finish and I can't believe we're seriously checking the standings for a playoff spot!

figs lost to the sharks

figs are a contender . yup
Always fun to laugh at the laffs...

But losing to any team in the NHL has zero relation to being a contender.

Last March/April, the Panthers lost to the flyers & Habs... And had a 4- game losing streak while going 12-10 heading into playoffs.
